If I look back 10 years then Egypt was still somewhere I had always wanted to visit.
My life was materially good, lots of friends,my own home, a great life but a life with no love and when I was alone at night I would often cry myself to sleep with loneliness and the feeling there was something missing.
But I had had vowed I would never become involved with a man again.
This was going to be my life but I soon discovered that sometimes destiny has its own plans.
I am now married to a wonderful Egyptian who I met 6 years ago on my first of many visits here, as I began a new career as a tour guide while I studied Egyptology at University.
I have now graduated and love my new life here in Luxor. Love filled much of the emptiness that had been there for so long and discovering the truth and wisdom of Islam has completed it.
There are no more nights when I need to cry myself to sleep,MashaAllah
Each day I give thanks to Allah swt for leading me here and blessing me with so much.
10 years can change so many things. |

I hope to be a good landscape designer but I think nothing encourage me to be like that and still fight between architecture and landscape as I'am better at Architecture than landscape but I love landscape
maybe after 10 years I will be like my father Architecture not a landscape designer and that will destroy my nowadays dream
I'm still confused what shall I do? |

It could be better but overall I am happy and contented with what and where I am. 'glad to hear that you feel the same way with your life, too. It's nice to see you here again, by the way, where have you been? |

No, my dreams and hopes were changed very early on......i was forced to take decisions and walk certain paths chosen by Allah swt. i have learned to accept this path and to even appreciate it.
When i did that, i realized, that those dreams could be changed or altered to suit my needs. (i am not making sense, i know...sorry)
To make a long story short, my life is totally different from what i had dreamed wished and hoped but guess what?? i love it. Alhamdulelah. |

Personally, I did not end up anywhere close to where I thought I would. My goals were very money-oriented when I was in my late teens and early twenties; but now I am completely different. My goals are mostly family-oriented and I am completely happy with my life even though I did not end up with the huge career and big house that I was planning on.
It is interesting how big of a difference 10 years can make but I think that in our 20's we do a lot of changing because we finally see the real world and figure out what is important to us. |
