A hand shake, a hug, a kiss on the cheek, a simple "hey" ...how do you greet your friends?

A hand shake in most cases, for close friends that I haven't seen for a while and whom I really miss, a hug sometimes feels just right.

As for those kisses on the cheek... I just hate them... I feel so uncomfortable when another guy just greets me this way... Yak...

It also depends on the culture and settings where the greeting takes place... In some places like mediterranean Europe or Latin America you are expected to greet good friends of the opposite sex with a kiss on the cheek...

To tell you the truth... If I do have to greet someone with a kiss on the cheek... I prefere the Mediterranean and Latin American approach to it, and as they say when I'm in Rome I do as the Romans do... And please don't get me wrong here... No bad intentions are involved... ;)

Cheers.

It depends on the friend...Usually a kiss on the cheek to the good friends males and females...
shake hands just in formal cases, i find it so distant, just when i want to kepp the distance...Hey...just to my colleagues..
And to tell you the truth i prefere it to them they just gossip(you know females ...lol)

depends .

i greet the girls with a light kiss

the guys .. well .. i don't usually kiss guys unless it's been months since we last met .. so usually a "wasup" hug .. or i make a fist and tap my chest 3 times "respect" ..

I use all kinds of greetings depending on the situation around and the relation with that friend. In some formal events it's not suitable at all to hug or kiss someone, but the actual truth, it happens.

Sweet Jane
With my girlfriends and female relis it is usually a kiss on the cheek. But with male friends and relatives I only shake their hand or pat them on the arm which when I think about it is sort of a funny thing to do,but that what all my family does so I have just followed the tradition.
If I meet someone I don't know very well or only on a formal level then I usually make no physical contact, just say hello or hi,I ask after them and their family if thats appropriate and smile.

hehehehe........allllllllllllllll you mentioned above :D
*of course with girls only* :b

but hey........it depends of course on how close we are !!
but mostly it's hugs and kisses, especially when you do love that friend so much........for example, in college, and though i almost go everday, yet whenever we meet we've like to "celebrate" the presence of each other :D

Girls or Boys? :D

Girls:
if she's my close friend, 2 kisses on cheek and a big hug.
If she's not close then : hi 7abebty 3amla eh?

Guys:
Close friend: shake hands strongly.
Not close -according to situation as it may be business- i may shake hands or not.

Kisses & Hugs
For all of my friends, we greet each other with hugs. With me close friends, it is a hug and a kiss on the cheek. When I meet new adults it is usually a hand shake but when I meet adults who I have known for a while it is either a hug or an air kiss, which is what every one does in the area I live in.
