There's usually one partner that "sees the light" and knows it's time to move on.. leaving the other partner hurt and dismayed.
Most couples have one partner that is more "in love" or "needy". This partner is usually the one who suffers the greater loss. |

Here is my 2 cents from my marriage for 25 years. Both of husband and wife will suffer the same psychological pain and need more time to heal. Some can take up to 3-5 years I have seen my close friend went through his and her hard time. People now take life for grant and they do not take time to learn how to deal with each other. Money can not buy Love and Love grows from inside out and I am sorry that People in a nice place like Saudi has to go to the same problem like the US. Well I want you to keep this issue a live and educate people around you.Let's stop divorce and save our children from the Divorce tragic. Thank you for asking this question and you really make your difference in this Yahoo answer. |

i would think females take it the hardest only because we are more emotional and sentimental about things. Although i also believe that the person who wants the divorce is the one mostly likely NOT to be in any kind of psychological pain of any kind. |

I think the women in Saudi Arabia suffered more physically and physiologically when it comes to divorce. Women in Saudi can't even go anywhere not even in the coffee shop therefore it is more hard for women than men. Women in Saudi has more restriction than men. They can't go alone to cure their loneliness not like the men. So, I would say in Saudi is more harder for women than men when it comes to get divorce. |

I don't think there is a way to predict one over the other, I believe there is tremendous pain at the loss of a love that once was; a time of mourning.
The one who is originally rejected, they feel the pain immediately; the one who created the split will feel the pain, it may not be immediate, but they will when they realize the loss of that partner in their life. Its amazing what you feel and come to terms with when you are left in the silence of your own thoughts and in some cases, coming to terms with what you've inflicted on someone else who trusted you with their love. |
