Why do we have to make such a big deal about the whole thing?

First off, Arab is not a nationality.. and we all know there are 22 Arabic countries and Egypt is one of them.. Which means that all Egyptians are automatically Arabs!
It's a matter of logic.. :-)

the person above is somewhat incorrect when he said Egyptians are arabs by religion.. There is no "arab" religion.. there are arab muslims, arab christians, arab jews, and arab pagans(non religion people)..
to be arab means anyones whose native speaking language is arabic..
So all the people of the northern mediteranean bordering african countries are arabs cause they speak arabic as their first language..
Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, etc etc... and a couple other african countries..
there can be american arabs.. cause they are american citizens, but speak arabic mainly then english as thier 2nd language..
also arab doesnt denote a race either.. There are white arabs, (blonde haired, blue eyed, white skinned) through the usual brown, all the way to the opposite being black, black curly haired, dark eyed.. so its not a race either..

Maybe they are arab today but the ancient Egyptians were black.. Arabs didn't even come to Egypt until like 630AD when egypt was in this downfall.. Dont listen to the people on TV trying to take away or re-write history to their favor..

in Arab summits you see Egypt,Sudan,Libya.Tunisia,Morocco,Algeri... islands
on the eastern side you see Saudia Yemen Gulf states Iraq Syria Jordan Palestine Lebanon
within this huge population you should see some sounds raising saying that they belong to different community this happens all the time
with whom you should associate with majority of 95% or some times get to 99% or you should just go with the !% minority (the 5% minority is not one ethnic group)
remind you this happens through out all ages since the sons of Adam

Egyptians are Egyptians by Ethnicity, Africans by Geography, Arabs by Language
So, Egyptians are Africans first and Arabs Second

Anyone whose native language is Arabic is considered to be an Arabian person!
Some says that our origin belongs to the Pharaonics...but still we are Arab!

Yes, Egyptians are Arabs by Ethnicty. The place where they were born doesn't matter. If somebody Egyptian was born in France, they will still be an Arab and European, instead of African.
And yeah, there is some connection with this linguistic thingy but I don't agree that everyone that their native language is Arabic is an Arab. In Morocco there's a lot of Berbers and their first language is Arabic, but they are not Arabs - they are still Berbers.

Egyptians is the People of Egypt while Arabs is the people of Arabian peninsula.
The language of Egypt now is Arabic Language but originally it's the Egyptian Language.
i really wonder how we are Arabs after all this.
may be there is Muslim Egyptians but i doubt there is something called "Arab religion".
