Yes they are. Since it is very rare that someone converts to Judaism, most Jews have been in a family of Jews for countless generations. This likely eventually traces back to when we were all together in the middle east. Jews were spread in the diaspora, but we are all semetic. It is just a long way back to trace that and so Russian or Ethiopian looks/traits, because they have lived there for generations, may be more obvious. But in summation, all Jews are semetic in the overall scheme of things.

I heard about theory that claims that Ashkenazim Jews came from a Slavic tribe, but it;s not true, i saw many Russian Jews with really Semitic faces. Ethnic Russians can define them very well. There is such a things a Jewish/Semtic look despite everything they say now.

The term 'semitic' was originated in 19th-century Germany, and it was meant (and used) to describe Jews. So the answer is yes. Jews from all over the wold, as well as converts to Judaism, are all semitic!

No, Russian Jews are ashkenazi. They are categorized whith the eastern, central, and northern european jews. Ethiopian Jews are african. Neither group is semitic.

So to answer your question, yes. Anyone who originated from the Middle East is Semetic, no matter where they migrated to later on.

semitic is a term that is generally applied to Jews but it technically means and people from the middle east (Jews and arabs). only recently has it been recognized almost exclusively as jews. to answer your question, yes, because they are now semites, who live in the middle east

Coltrane is most certainly correct about Ethiopeans whose language is a Semitic language! They are more Semitic than the Palestinians who are a hodge-podge of peoples: Saudis, Egyptians, Syrians, Romans, Greeks, and Allah only knows what else! Europeans aren't Semitic; however, the Russian Jews who got to Russia are MOST DEFINITELY JEWS, albeit having sustained rape and intermarriage. There is probably much more European lineage in the Arab population than that of the Jews! Syrians are Europeans, and Egyptians are not Semites.

If their blood lines go back to Shem they must be. Do they have to have come directly from Shem's line to be old time Jewish in faith? No. Many tribes other than Hebrews worshiped the one God as taught by the Jews.
