Ok you are mixing two different things... nationality and religion.

It is like saying are Americans Christian?

So let us answer this in two parts....

1. Are they African. For the most part yes. There are two cities in Morocco that are still Spanish (Ceuta and Mililla). Those two autonomous cities are still considered European and therefore are part of the European Union. Morocco is NOT part of the African Union but is part of the Arab League of countries. But, since the country IS in Africa (North Africa) it is indeed African and therefore all of the inhabitants are African.

2. Are they Arab. As mentioned previously they are part of the Arab League and the official language is Arabic (with French being used as a language used in Business... most Moroccans are at least bi-lingual). 99.1% of the inhabitants of Morocco are indeed Arab or Berber with the other .9% being either Christian or Jewish.

So are they Arab... yes
So are they African... yes

Your question is interesting, the Moroccans do speak arabic but are not all arabs.
Around 35% of the population is Amazigh (real north african, being there since ages..)
About 60% is Arab settlers that came to the country with Islam.
The rest is a mix of Andaluz-Arabs (Spain) and sub-saharian africans.

Interesting question, they are both Arabic and African.

Morocco is in the continent of Africa however it is an Arabian country. Being Arabian is an identification of Culture and Language, not of Geography.

The main language spoken in Morocco is Arabic.

they are all african because they live in africa however they are not all arabs.
it is an arabic country. to be arab your ancestors come from arabia and you speak arabic as your first language.
in morocco they have native moroccans called amazigh. they are not arabs and most do not speak arabic as their first language, they pretty much look the same but they have a different culture and different language although most learn arabic as the second language
about 50 percent or more are amazigh

Geographically in North Africa but we have arabs and Barbers The main language is arabic at schools and tv news and other programs only used standard arabic except moroccans movies and at home in the streets we speak Moroccan dialect it's like Egypt mainly in North africa and all people classified it as arab country too

Morocco is actually an African country.

Originally, the people were Berbers, but Arabisation occurred when the muslims pushed through in a number of long lasting wars and forced the country into Islam. Berbers were not an African tribe but more closely related to the people of Iberia and were known as Libyans by the ancient Greeks, as Numidians and Mauri by the Romans, and as Moors by medieval and early modern Europeans. The name 'Berber' was given to them by the Arabs, the Berbers call themselves Amazigh.

Now, only around 25 million Berbers remain, and they are more concentrated in the west of the country towards Algeria and becoming less prevalent the further east you go. The country is mostly Arab or a mixed Berber/Arab populations.

Much of the Berber culture has been destroyed by arabisation. Berbers are defined as White Mediterraneans with moderate Alpinid & Nordic admixture closer to Europeans than to Africans. This is supported by a scientific study done on Rif Berbers showing that 38.6% of the Rif Berbers have blue or green eyes a percentage higher than that found in Sicilians or Spaniards.

Prior to the arrival of islam, there were three Berber Popes, one of them was St Augustine, who is venerated in most branches of Christianity.

Interestingly, and as a further move to continue the destruction of the Berbers, giving children Berber names was banned.

Moroccan Jews constitute an ancient community. Before the founding of Israel in 1948, there were about 250,000 Jews in the country, but fewer than 7,000 or so remain.

Despite the mistreatment handed out to the Jews, the government had a ban on Moroccan Jews leaving the country between 1956 to 1963.

moroccans are africans and speak darija, not arabic; they have had arabic influences but mainly this is nation with diverse ethnic groups.

No we are not Arabs. We are Berbers or Amazigh as we call ourselves.

We may speak Arabic but that is as far as it goes. Black Americans speak English, it dousnt mean they are English or White.
