Israelis do not make it a practice to deliberately target women and children. Not all terrorists are Arabs; consider the people involved in the London bombing fiasco, many of whom are not Arabs. And, of course, not all Arabs are terrorists.

Killing does not equal terror. Terror is a specific brand of murder, one that today is monopolized by Arabs and Islamic extremists, but other groups also commit terror. Your Ariel Sharon argument is flawed; he did not himself kill anyone and certainly not by terrorist activity.
The Israelis who commit violence for Israel are called soldiers, and the difference between their brand of violence and terror is simply the target. The Israeli military targets terrorists exclusively; while mistakes do happen and civilians end up as casualties they were never the targets. Palestinians on the other hand who take up violence against Israel see all Israelis as equal targets; they specifically target civilians, and that is why they are considered terrorists.
Not all violence was created equal, and as such the treatment isn't equal either.

I assume you got the labels of terrorist from the western media. Understand that in the western media, arab's who attack other's will be called terrorists and it the middle eastern media they will be called hero's. Likewise, in Middle Eastern media, Israeli's will be called infidels and murderers....you get the point. Just depends who you get your label from. Also, you do not see the Israeli's recruiting members from the U.K., and the eastern and african continents, putting them in training camps, and teaching them how to blow people up to promote their religion. I have a feeling that if "terrorists" would stay out of Israel, their would'nt really be much news from that region. Ususally, when you see an Israeli military movement, it is in response to provocation. One has to wonder, with Israel being the third most powerful military in the world.... is it really a good idea to pick a fight anyway? Of course, dream as we may, the arab/Israeli conflict will continue. So the answer to your question is, an Israeli is viewed in a positive light, when he holds an Arab in custody because it is likely in defense of his people even if later, they find the Arab innocent.....and an Arab is called a terrorist because he leaves his home land and kills others who he does not know for a less tangible reason than self defense.

There is a more than subtle difference between acts of war and terrorism. Unfortunately more than anywhere else or any other people, to many of the action of errant Arabs fall more into the area of terrorism than war, with the deliberate killing of innocent citizens at home and abroad in places totally removed from the war.

Many of the actions that occured here are not acts of terrorism, but are crimes and as started with the first action have been ajudicated. Sadly not all crimes do get punished anywhere (example the OJ Simpson case - whether he was guilty or not - the person of true guilt was not prosecuted). That was 52 incidents over a long period of time and there are more unsolved murders in NYC (which btw has a population of roughly one million more than Israel and the occupied territories combine) in a one to two year period even though the number of homicides have been drastically reduced in NYC over the last 17 years http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/pdf/chfdept/cscity.pdf Its data like that which to the informed observer lead to why most in the West don't consider the claims of the Palestinians very valid. Considering the lack of cooperation and all it makes things even more suspect. I am sure if you compare the statistics of Israelis who commit crimes against Palestinian the data will show that there is a comparably high rate incarceration compared to other populations.

First of all, to answer this kind of questions, we shall try to be as much honest as we can be without any prejudice. What I am extracting from answers, is mostly people are biased, how can we expect really good thinking from biased people?
Why shall we call Arabs the terrorists? Arab is a significant term and it covers a whole lot of people, and a very large region. Can all of them be terrorists?
And what is the definition of a terrorist or terrorism? Since a long time we have been reading and watching people declaring each other the same. Who is right, who is wrong? what is the rational answer?
Whole nation, whole races can not be terrorists. There are lot of political motives and many interest groups involved in middle east, its not just between israel and Palestine. There is war, and there are parties which are really proxies in this war, fighting for some one else. And there are people who are fighting for themselves.
In this complex situation, I think declaring someone a terrorist is a good way to escape from reality.

Not all terrorists are Arabs or Muslims; even through most of the terrorist organizations start with a corruption of Islam, many regular Americans and other citizens of the world join up with the terrorists.

Another major misconception is that terrorists are poor people. Most of the leaders are smart and kind of rich (like the doctors that were involved in the recent UK terror plot, and the leaders of al-Qaeda.

To be quite blunt, with regard to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Israelis usually fight only when they have been provoked, even if they use too much force. They don't fight for the purpose of terrorizing people. Any Israeli terrorists wouldn't be working through a big organization (the Israeli government itself is certainly not arranged to promote terrorism against the Palestinians). Some of the organizations for the Palestinians/Arabs (like Hamas and Hezbollah) do use terrorist tactics.

About the article that you linked--I am sure the Palestinian groups are made to look like the bad guys because of the terrorist organizations. And those involved in Hamas and other such known terrorist groups are the bad guys, just as much as any Israeli who would kill an Arab just for the heck of it.

well although what i read is a tragedy but it seems to me as a black comedy issue what are you expect from who don't want peace are you expect to hear that they have justice no way btw. i didn't surprised from history they said that there is Holocaust to give them selves excuses for war and they did it again on 119 just to give excuses on what they are doing now they are at Iraq , Afghanistan , and once they were at Egypt and god know who is next its Iran or Syria who comes first god know so don't surprise they who put the definition of terrorism but when you defend so you are the the terrorism

Imagine, really, seriously, for a minute: That you were sitting in your home having dinner with your kids and wife. Maybe you were have pot roast that night, and watching "Family Guy". Suddenly, you hear banging on your door , so your startled then again, and again the banging until you see this man forcing your door open with a machine gun in his hand. Your children's faces go pale white, your wife is just trying to manage , trying all the while to understand what just happened. Your youngest runs to hold your leg as you push her away towards her mom so that you can run to get your gun from the bedroom. Meanwhile the men have busted the door down and have secured your house and are in the process of stealing your TV, Rug almost everthing that is valuable to you, while your kids are shaking with fear and your eldest daughter is pulled to the side by one of the men, the others have already wrapped the goods and are heading out; when you come down , your blood rushing with fear, and anger all boiled into one emotion that is more powerful than what you had imagined.So know YOU do wht you have to inorder to keep your loved ones safe. As you see your daughter being yanked away you scream from the top of your lung," LET HER GO!!!!" They don't even bother, they continue pulling at your beautiful 15yr. old while your wife and other little ones are huddled together with your wifes arms wrapped around their eyes and ears. Infuriated , and helpless about the situation you aim and hit the gay who is pulling and yanking at your girl. She screams and falls as he turns to aim at you, you shot. He falls.
Did you shot the burglers, or are you the Terrorist who wants to protect your loved ones , like all of us? Who came in with the guns? Who stole?

He thought to himself that "this is Arabs against Arabs, and this is not our business......" I would think exactly the same thing if I were him. Want proof? Look even at the Settler children. They daily throw stones at Palestinians. Is this not in itself a terror campaign?

What about the harassment of older Settlers, who carry machine guns and threaten the lives of every Palestinian.

What about the IDF soldier who go to Palestinian homes and arbitrarily select people for imprisonment.

How about the bulldozing of Palestinian homes; isn't this terrorism?

What about the selective targeting of children by the IDF?

The list goes on and covers every level of israeli society.

Israel is not a security threat to the Arab world.

Most Arab countries have dedicated themselves to the destruction of Israel as national policy.

Israel only defends itself from the annihilation that is the stated objective of most of the Arab world.
