Israel treats Palestinian Christians in the same way they treat Palestinian Muslims (which is why Hezbollah has so many Christian members). Of course this isn't something that many people want to be heard because then it shatters the idea that Palestinians are all rutheless terrorist Muslims who hate Jews to the death and the Israelis are the poor self-defenders who can never do wrong (both are wrong in mho). And because of this propoganda, when a little bit of the real information slips out, nobody wants to believe it because it's so different from what they usually hear. Either that or excuses are made. Human nature I suppose.

I dont understand the liberal use of the word Terrorist or Terror by people in the media every time an arab does something criminal he is a terrorist and the same does not apply to a white offender.

The evengalicals want agressive jewish settlements in all of so called greater israel so that their rapture can come and so they can convert the jews to christianity onwards.

Any jew who listened to a tent full of evangilicals would be offended about their opinions on Israel and the middle east.

That is sad to hear, but I had already heard some tragic stories from some of my Israeli christian friends that move to the US. It is hard for me to believe this, and this is why I don't like religion. Not all Jews are against christians, just some.

But they have no problems with Christians as long as they keep there religion to themselves.

i was born a christian though am not really practising religion.. i live in israel and have never had anyone give me a hard time or be racist because i am christian..

my husband is jewish and and his family are all very loving and respectful towards me. we all get on just fine.

i think there will always be extreme people in all facets of life..whether its religion politics or anything... but extremism is not peaceful, its very core is the belief that their way or belief is the only way.. this is not accepting the other for their beliefs and way of living..

in order to have a peaceful life and existance we all need to see that the world is made up of lots of different people with lots of different beliefs..and thats what makes the world the amazing and interesting place that it is.. we need to embrace the differences between us all..

Some probably are, but we get it a lot worse from muslims. This is one church (and who knows if the story is even true), how many thousand of our churches have been burned in Indonesia, Sudan, the Philippines, Pakistan and Nigeria?

I would like to echo the excellent response of EU CITIZEN.

Also, the majority of Jews aren't actually 'against' any religious or ethnic group, because we know how it feels to be hated for no good reason.

I'm sure you agree, though, that it is really out of order for any Christians to come to Israel and attempt to convert Jewish people. And again, EU CITIZEN is totally right in his assessment of what evangelicals ultimately want.

All that said, IF it transpires that any Jews did set fire to the church, I don't condone this. It's always wrong to do something of this nature.

But to answer your question - Jews as a whole are NOT against christians. We ARE against christians attempting to proseletyze Jews into becoming christians, ESPECIALLY in Israel. We have NEVER in our entire history tried to convert christians, and expect christians to have enough respect to leave us alone as well.

This particular church was a center for christian missionary activity, so I would not be surprised if it was attacked by some right wingers. I don't think I would applaud them, but we don't need that sh*t in this country!!

By the way, it was done late at night, when nobody was there, assumedly to avoid/minimize any risk of endangering human life. And no prayer books etc. were damaged.

Some are, but some aren't. Christians sometimes tend to push on us their religion which gets pretty annoying.

You have most probably read the Holy Qur'anic verse, "The Jews said there is not a grain of truth in Christianity, and the Christians said there is not a grain of truth in Judaism..."

I do not exactly remember the rest of the verse, but I know that both of those religions are respected in Islam, whereas followers of both have been keeping cursing at our Muslim brethren, or Holy Book, and Our Beloved Prophet for quite a long while.

May God forgive them, and guide us all to be true monotheists.

All of the current monotheistic religion are just bastardizations of early Eygptian worship of the sun god Ra.

If you look at the similarities between all the religions:

The Great Deluge (Flood): Gilgamesh, Noah, ...
The Virgin Birth: LaoTzu, Jesus, Mithras, Horus
Death & Resurrection: Osiris, Tammuz, Attis, Mithra, Jesus

The differences come when addressing those who "keep Torah" & those that believe that Jesus was God incarnate. For Jews, any human being God is Blasphemey!

I'm sure there's some tiny, minuscule group of extremists who have such desires, but the majority of Jews recognize the necessity of supporting and working with Christians in order to survive. Despite historical precedents, we're the greatest allies they have.

Yes , Davie Boy I read the other day how there is something like a "lobby group" which some Evangelists have. They raise money for the purpose of enticing. Although I still believe that one must be strong and sure in what they believe. If one converts do you think it is their choice , in the end I mean? Cheers!
