The zionists here don't want to tell but there are a lot of israeli groups that DAILY protest the occupation.

The occupation is illegal, and immoral and is currently in the process of failing. israel will not survive another 20 years; and as a result, you will see more and more israelis bidding for peace. They feel that it is perhaps the only way that they can hold onto what they have stolen.

I'm sure you will find many Israelis who want peace. And are willing to give back the occupied terratories . But many Jews who don't wish to live there (not all) but many have all the fight with words only, and they do not want peace. Peace!

You will find many Israelis who think Gaza and the West Bank should be under control.
If you watch Israeli TV (as I do) you will see proof of that. This debate rages daily, and on every news-related talk show there are always proponents and opponents of this issue.

There certainly are, but apparently not many on this forum!

Which is not such a surprise, because people who choose to participate in forums often have relatively extreme views.

But I live in Israel, and I can tell you that I and the vast majority of my friends here would happily hand over all of the occupied territories if it would bring peace. But that is a mighty big 'if', and Israeli society is completely polarised between those who believe that peace is possible with the Palestinians, and those who do not. The results of handing over Gaza were very disappointing, and so pragmatic peace-seekers like myself are inclined to only proceed with the West Bank if it can be done in such a way as to improve the situation rather than make it worse.

A large part of Israel's citizens belong to what I would call the 'pragmatist peace camp' - people who want peace provided that Israel's security can be ensured - and it was on this support base that Olmert's government was established. By comparison, groups such as 'Peace Now' who insist that we need to make rapid concessions in order to advance the peace process represent a much smaller section of Israeli society.

As for people at the opposite end of the political spectrum, I know some people who live in West Bank settlements, and can tell you that many of them are there for financial rather than ideological reasons - it's a lot cheaper to live in the West Bank than in the main cities. Such people could be persuaded to relocate if given the right financial incentives, while others would eventually be forced to do so if the country deems it to be in our overall best interests.

i am an orthodox jew
first to the user who says we dont believe in zionism, every single person i know who is orthodox is a zionist. i myself am a hardcore zionist.
as for the west bank and gaza: aside from the fact that the thorah says that it is ours, bc obviously this is nota valid argument in this day and age
(although no other religion makes the same claim in their holy book):
1. israel won those territories in wars that they did not start. so militarily, as is the rule of the world, it is theres. i dont see the US giving land back to the native americans.
2. when we did give land back, ex: the gaza strip, and what happens? aside from the palestinians completely destroying the infrastructure that was left for them and turning down trainig offered to them by the israelis on how to use the state of the art greenhouses the israeli used (which they destroyed), there are also rockets launched almost daily into israel from gaza. so, israel needs to be in this land (i do not think they are occupying them), for the security and safety of the rest of the country.

There are Israelis who do and don't support anything and everything. In fact, I heard that there are more opinions per capita in Israel than in any other country. But hey, that's how jews are!

first of all, the occupation of gaza is over, israel left a year and a half ago.

i don't support the occupation based on religious reasons, but i do support it based on security reasons. the west bank was never a separate country, it was part of jordan. jordan lost it in the war of 67 (which the arabs started) and after the war jordan said it didn't want the land back.
when the palestinian authority gets control of its citizens, stops fighting with israel, and puts an end to terrorism, it will be safe for israel to withdraw.
but gaza was a test case, and the arabs failed. israel left and the terrorism only increased.
the westernmost point of the west bank is only 9 miles from the sea, so israel cannot afford to have a hostile enemy in that land. as soon as the palesinians give up their hostility, we can talk.

There is only one kind of occupation in that general Area, it is the occupation of Judea and Samaria by the Arabs.

Arabs are the occupying power and they must leave those lands and go back to Jordan and Egypt.

The Israelis do not 'occupy' Gaza. Hamas, the terrorist group, controls Gaza. Since the Israelis pulled out, there has been more terrorism from Gaza and Israelis are dying because of all the kassam rocket attacks on towns like Sderot.
