technically ,utter rubbish ! A geyser element consumes on average 2-3kw but it will only take a minute or two to reheat the water that was replaced in the geyser.A dishwasher consumes on average 1.8kw but the duty cycle is on average 15 minutes. |

ads are the art of promoting lies. |

i'm not sure what advertisement youre talking about, but a dishwasher not only uses less electrical energy than handwashing, it also uses less water and soap, and is more efficient (unless there are gigantic chunks of food on your dishes. |

Dishwasher?
Handwash?
I'm feeling a bit faint... I'm not accustomed to such heavy usage of words pertaining to domesticated duties....
Dishes always reappear in the cupboard, clean sparkly and new...like magic (",) |

i had to call an electrician buddy of mine to get the answer. he says it is all relative and depends on the size of the geyser vs the dishwasher, as well as the amount of dishes etc. so, maybe in a perfect world, it MIGHT be cheaper to run a dishwasher, but generally it isn't. |

Are you all a bitty backward? MY dishwasher uses cold water and then heats it to the temperature I set it, eg. 45, 55, or 65 degrees. No old geezer has anything to do with it. |

Could be true , if the dishwasher is full . & depending on the efficiency of your water heater. You'd have to measure the water , & how much energy it takes to heat it, & to operate the dishwasher. |

Well I can't believe it but I ACTUALLY AGREE wow!!!!!!
I don't like dishwashers. First of all it is more work packing the stupid thing and secondly when you sometimes open it there are still dirty dishes in it. It doesn't wash clean enough for me!
Nope, bring on the dishes, wishy washy!!!! |

I fully agree with you on this one. I think it is pure laziness not to was your dishes by hand and save valuable resources at home. |

Ahooi - I second that, now a days, advertising seems to be "non-rialistic, no brains - all braun" They are sending out a msg that we are stupid and think that they can fool as in buying the product. On the other hand -they need to sell it so anything to get the $$$ rolling in!!! |
