It depends, on who the other person is.

Usually I'm a very good listener.

I like to listen to the other person to see how s/he thinks, explore his ideas, then engage in the conversation with him/her. Sometimes that's not possible if the other person isn't a talker, so I would have to do the talking and reverse the process.

EDIT: In some cases like my aunt's phone calls it's a monologue from her side. She just goes on and on; she asks and answers - present ideas support them, then present other ideas and contradict them... in this case you find me holding the phone as I do other work.. all it takes is some "yeah.... true... yeah.. i guess...." You know throw a word every 20 seconds... May God Help me if I pick up her call (by mistake)

I'm both, depends on the situation. If someone wants me to listen, i'm all ears. If someone wants to hear about my depressing life, i'm ready to talk.

it depends.. if i know the person.. it's a 70% vs 30% .. 70 for talking.. cause i'd have got used to the person and wouldn't be embarrassed about what i say cause i'd know that they don't think it's a permanent job is i said something stupido..

If i don't know the person.. it's about 85% - 15% i guess... i listen then more than i'd talk... cause they're still strangers....

i'm a listener...I never talk unless I have something important to say (talking has gotten me in trouble before) therefore I'd rather listen

I am not a big talker unless i really enjoy the subject matter. and i dont listen much for the same reason, i guess unless you grab my attention quick i ma more of a "uh huh" "yeah" "really?" "I'll be damned" these phrases are great for use on people who talk entirely too much. lol

ya , I listen more than talking , but sometimes with some people who are always quite , i must talk to make him talk :)

I try to listen more than I talk. I like to know about people and understand the world better. I think its much harder to gain this understanding if you never shut up long enough to hear what everyone has to say!
** You would be surprised what you learn by not talking and just listening.

Both. I used to be incredibly shy, so I am a VERY good listener...but if I am very comfortable around someone, or if no one else is doing any talking, I can reallly become a motormouth...

I mostly listen with most people. Then there are times when I need to talk. Everyone needs to vent. You can only liste to everybody's problems for so long, until you have to get some things off your chest.
