I'm not South African, but my soon to be hubby is from South Africa. I'm not ashamed one bit either. I brag about him all the time!! He's the most wonderful and amazing man I've ever met! He has a wonderful family, and I love the way his family and him are such respectful people. In addition, South Africa is a beautiful place. If you are talking down on SA, then maybe you should take a visit, you may change your mind. I know the government is crooked, but the people are so nice. Also, most people think that because they are from SA, that the people are all black and poor.... Sorry to tell ya, but its not the case at all. My fiance is white and doing quite well for himself, more than most UK and American citizens. I'm headed out to SA for Christmas..... Woohoo.... Soo, thumbs up for the South Africans.......... Love Ya!! |

Yes, I am, inasmuch as I'm proud of my White heritage, not the bunch if imbeciles who are running (down) the country at present. Neither do I accept that piece of poo that passes for the SA flag. It's garish and vulgar and does not represent my heritage in any way, manner or form!
I fully expect lots of thumbs down for this comment, but I don't give a toss. |

Although at times, i tend to be embarrased that I am South African, I am still proud of that fact. Despite the negativity surrounding our country, i still am a proud citizen. |

Home is home it does not matter if the father is unemployed and the mother is an alcoholic and the big bother is a drug addict, one will always love their home.

I used to be, but now I am ashamed, and i only use it as a talking point. We are the laughing stock of the world. People say 'we' ex pat's rubbish the country.. when it does it it's self. Just read the headlines. Number 1 in the world for rapes, 2nd most dangerous place in the world. Next door to the country with the world highest inflation.
What have I really got left to be proud of? |
