Good to see you Turniton, where have you been?
I think being here is about learning and getting a different point of view. You dont post Q's to find out who will agree with you, you do that to find out what others opinion on it are and maybe get a clearer understanding. Mostly I must admit that I'm guided by the Thumbs up... and feel it only fair to give 10 points to that person who has seemingly earned it. Respect shouldnt have much to do with regular Q&A's... Some of the people I respect and call friends I tend to not agree with at times. If I did all the time, then I wouldnt be my own person. Respecting someone is totally different to totally idealizing that persons every word and opinion. |

oh no! anything but. what would be the point then? i like it when people in this forum disagree and argue reasonably and logically. it becomes interesting and enriching. |

Turniton, I try to be accommodating, but some fights here are disheartening. I respect everybody, though I know that some hate me just because I'm involved with the person they don't like. If only we can learn that each one of us come here with their strengths, we would be a marvel section. I'm highly choosy which questions I answer. I try my best to avoid political questions as they bring the worst out of those involved.
BTW..nice question>>>^^(((<*>)))^^ |

I like your question...
I believe we all have a right to express ourselves,,,and its not up to us to not allow people with other ideas to participate. For example, I definitely dont agree with Zim, however, I cant help giving credit when credit is due,,,he answered one of my questions like a true gentleman, as opposed to the double faced MJ.... |

Most definitely not.I used to enjoy the sparring with Zim and one or two others provided it remained on the topic under discussion. Zim by his own admission no longer wishes to continue the debate and many of those who have replaced him answer from a pure emotional perspective or resort to insulting and attacking the character of respondents. After a time I decided that I would respond to those characters in kind but today the thread is 90% insults with a few jokes thrown in.
Pity. |

Not at all, I respect all answers - some constructive criticism has never hurt anybody. I can even handle the full blown Insults, save for one or two answerers it rarely happens. |

No check my questions, i give best answers to every one, I think each person should have his or her own opinion, the problems start when you want to force people to believe what you believe or to agree with you. But it is difficult to respect any one if their answers are downright rude, insulting and disrespectful. |

There would be no point to this if we all had the same viewpoints. Difference makes it interesting.
Off course it is always nice if someone does agree with you, but if someone is in a total different mindset, but still put it across in a decent manner, I have respect for that. Most of the time anyway. :-) |

Yes, of course, I do respect each and every contributor on this forum, although I do not answer all the questions. I keep clear of any political debates and personal rantings. I also accept that everyone will have their own opinions which I may not agree with at times, but that's what this forum is all about, sharing information and debating issues concerning our country. Good question, star for you! |

yes i do respect the views/opinions of the users here. that is why i ask q, so that i can learn more about the people in my country and how they feel regarding certain aspects of life |

I really respect the views raised by every contributor. If I do not, then I could claim that only my views are correct and why then participate and debate certain issues. I am here to learn from all the contributors and will make views and suggestions my own if that makes sense to me and in my personal life. I have in the past selected best answers to certain topics which were 90% opisite of my own opinions. |

YES AND NO ! The reason for my answer is simple. Every body have different morals and principals . Say someone promototes racism 24/7 would you respect their veiws ? I am a Christian and cannot respect someone's veiw if he claims to be God and mock my religeon !
Don't fool yourself ,One tends to respect the person with the same morals ,principals etc as yours !
I also listen and respect Zim but do not always agree with him ! The differance is tact and diplomacy . He knows how to differ in a civil matter ! |

Lol no Turniton - i don't always agree with how they say it or with their point of view but then i am sure they don't always appreciate mine either |

No, isnt that the point of having stuff like this- to hear opposing viewpoints?? So i like when someone challenges me because that means i may learn something. Most of the time i dont because people are ignorant, but sometimes. |

Oh no, many opinions are not similar to mine, but I learn from others too. And sometimes I find it very informative what the other has to say about what or how something is experienced. We come from different walks of life and a big problem is that we do not know how the other person thinks, how they have lived and other points. What I do not like is the personal attack on other users.
Many times I am pleasantly surprised by some of the answers, and have difficulties choosing a BA, because there are many good, but differing, answers. |

Hah, that is a good question. MC and Bull with their fokken pathetic trailor trash drivel that they learnt at the drive in in Boksburg and Alf with his "bloke down the pub" wisdom... yet they abuse and attack anyone who disagrees with them Then Smiley comes waltzing in with her third rate blerrie platitudes and so on and so forth. |
