Hey man. Yes, i am a regular viewer of this channel and i kinda like it except what u r asking about. I am sorry man but i don't agree with this boycott thing. I find on this channel many useful programs and sometimes very good English movies like that one called Fahrenheit 9/11 which i watched on the same channel few weeks ago. I don't think they do that to get more viewers but its their point of view to show the original version of the movie and if u noticed before the movie starts they say that this movie is for adults only (lelkobar webas).
I have another idea by which we can take what is useful for us and leave what is not. Now most receivers if not all of them have the property of locking the channel (not deleting it) so why don't parents lock this channel at the movie time which is everyday at 10pm i guess and the replay is next day at 2pm. By this our children will be safe even if the parents r not at home they can lock it.

actually, family was discussing this issue on Friday.........and they said that they show uncut movies, and they were shocked by what it provides.

so, i agree with what you are saying and joining your call to Boycott OTV................this call is to those who want to save their morality and manners from being polluted by such scenes.

I had no idea this channel was airing such scenes, and I get what u r trying to say and do but the thing is this channel is targeting a demographic group which is teenagers of all class.

Now u now what they say "el mamnoee marghoub", or forbidden fruits taste sweetest. I just wish that yr honest warning will not backfire and all the teens on Egypt YA start watching it even more.

I don't know if i m fortunate or not, but it is always scrambled, the cable guy came once when he was installing the stuff, and here was the convesration:
me: Why this Otv is always scrambled, it's a free channel, would you plz fix that!?
The cable guy: Ok..let's see..(15 sec pause with some buttons pushing)..well..what is the model of this receiver?
me: it's in front of you..i don't know!
The cable guy: ahh..i see..your receiver is too old..
me: WHAT? it's digital!!
The cable guy: Yes, i know..but it's old..buy another one sir, they are cheap now..
me: @#*&#@! (thinking to myself)

So..will you give me aglimpse of what you are talking about? i shouldn't buy another receiver? right?

i m so happy that u think of that...i dont watch this channel thank Allah ....and i will try to let every one i meet not to watch this channel .....i just dont know why are we copycat europeans and americans in the bad things?

i dont know the channel you are talking about but is it like "big brother" the australian show??? if it is then i think you are right and i hate channels like that !! good luck spreading it around.. im with you 100 %

U must have watched to know so much about it. We can choose what we want to watch if u dont like dont watch simple. These ppl will never lose they have the money to do wat they want.
Dont agree on younger members watching but u have facility to block this just like u can block me if u disagree wiv what i say.

ya i totally agree with you..this channel is a bit discusting...i remember the first time it was on and the movie "sahar el lyaly" was on...and it was uncut ...ya3...i was gonna vomit from the scenes...i even didnt see it before and i had seen it in the cinema...

you have the choice to remove it,change the channel...but it will still be there....
i tried to delete all the "porno-clip" channels from the satellite...but it always come back...i dunno maybe my sister.....

Well I guess stop watching the channel will play a good rule, but I'd like to ask you a question why you mentioned OTV only? I have objections on OTV but I think there are channels worse than it & should be deleted before it.

i hate it not for showing uncut movies or even porno clips because they are everywhere and watch melody series of channels to know , but i hate it for trying to eliminate our Arabic personality by using slang (3amia masria ) instead of Arabic , i also hate fawasel which includes distorted Egyptians fat lady smoking and stuff and the most of all i hate program ( yeb2a enta akeed fi masr ) because i think the announcer is me7ashesh wala moa7.za 3ashan di mish tasarofat ensan tabi3i abadan , also detest samir 3.anem and his desperate trials to stay young by having plastic face , i don't watch it no more from about five months , i hate it also melody aflam and rotana cinema and hala sar7an and the other hooker inas de3.idy

i think that otv is one of the results of our opeened commuinty.as most of media programs are copied from the west without noticing the defrence btween our culture and theirs.so i hope one of our leaders do any thing to help our youth to grow up n healthy enviroment.
insha2 allah ramadan is agreat chance to stop watching those stupid channels.

I do agree with ruby, if you don't like it, watch another, is everything in life we dislike we didn't get it? As Madonna said in her song ''Frozen'' : you only see what your eyes want to see, how can life be what you want it to be ??.

For example you like coca cola and only it and when you went shopping or buying it you found only Pepsi, will you rather prefer buying Pepsi or no soda at all?

It's all in your hand and sorry i won't spread it around - to stop people watching it its just you like it you get it you don't so don't!!!

By the way i don't have it since they made it! Because i don't know its code, my friend has it she watches some shows on it. And whats more important for you is not deleting it, it's having it but your will tells you not to watch, that will make you feel better every time!

I don't know what is OTV. but I have a satellite TV at home and we have a lock with password on channels that we dont watch or dont want our kids to watch.

is this available in satellite channels in egypt?

also, we have rating system like G, PG, AO..etc. and if there is someting not suitable for kids the channel will lock automatically.

the funny thing is, I am now in here the area and most of the channels are viewing programs that if back home the TV will be locked 24 hours !!!
