You can't change truth. If truth changes, then truth is subjective. If truth is subjective, then there is no truth.....

Basically, a very long philosophical argument will show that truth is objective and there are absolute truths. These cannot be altered, no matter how hard Hillary tries.

Absolutely. As sickening as it may sounds, truth is what majority of the people believes. We used to believe that world is flat until there were enough evidences that convinced majority to believe.

remember that 2 is an abstract, and so is 4 and 5. so the sum of 2 + 2 will always equal something. whether we call it 4 or 5 is upto us human beings. if there were real entities such as 2,4 or 5 then we would bring them in and observe as two and two react, then we woult know the real product- the sum.

Say as a child you were taught, due to the government, that a wheel is called an apple and an apple is called a wheel. Is that true? They are simply two different words representing truths. The words themselves are not the truth. So if everyone were taught that then it would be true. Now with2 + 2 = 5, if 2 is the representation of the number we consider 2,5...would the statement be true?

For example say everyone is told and taught that 0,5 is a whole. 1 is a whole and a half. 1,5 is a whole plus another whole. And 2 is a whole plus another whole plus a half. Then for no reason they make 3 equal a whole plus a whole plus another whole. etc. Thus 2 + 2 would equal 5

On the other hand, leaving numbers with their correct meaning, if the government said that 2 + 2 = 5 and it was taught so. Yes people would believe it to be true, but no it wouldn't be true. Truth doesn't need to be known to exist.

Two things must be considered though. To change history is very possible, because although there is a true history, it is very hard to find actual evidence to discern the truth. Take our history for example. If an ancient civilization wrote that the entire populace all walked 4 miles a day. Now keep in mind that every text or writhings, including pictures of this civilisation show this...Now how do we know if they lied? The only thing we can go on is that they said it.

On the other hand, the equation 2 + 2 = 5 can be reasoned. There are many many mathematic formula that rely on such a basic principle...so either you have to modify all those so they include the lie and validate it, or you cannot teach people any of it so as not to disprove 2 + 2 = 5. You need to do this because if people find flaws in government stated facts, they wont be very happy. Also if that's a lie, what else might be false? People would then begin to question their government and a government tryng to control the people would not like that much. In the end control like that is not impossible, just EXTREMELY difficult.

Also, the truths we know are limited by our senses. Say for example, No human could see. Now no one could include the factor of sight into any equation. Truths gained from seen results wouldn't exist then. How would we even know that lightning can cause fire?! Now, it is given that there are spectrum's of light that we cannot see. Also there are sound waves we cannot hear. We don't know a hell of a lot about the universe we live in, so could there maybe be another sense that we don't know exists, or is out of our range that could change, and even disprove our core truths? Can you really know anything for truth unless you know EVERY POSSIBLE FACTOR relating to that truth?
