As for your vision of Islam being the true road to prosperity etc etc ...open your eyes mate , go tell that to people in Indonesia , the largest Islamic state in the world & one of the poorest per capita..!

Ask yourself this question...where would the Arab states be now if it wasn't for oil & where will they be once it dries up, as it will !

I live in a western style democracy where we can have a change of government as we did last year , with no anger , no hatred , no violence & an acceptance that the majority of voters wanted change.Show me an Islamic state where that happens ?Show me an Islamic state that allows its' citizens to worship their religion in freedom , without state interference ..

A system that governs its' people on the basis of religion is flawed , biased , dictatorial , undemocratic & has no place in an age when tolerance & understanding should be paramount .

There will be no peace when there is no tolerance and acceptance................. i think the Lebanese would prefer a govt that represents each and every one of them and not just one community/religion.............. for that to happen they, the parties need to embrace each and every ethnicity............grow up this is the 21st century...............look around you, look at outsiders, the govt that can provide for it's people economically and peaceful is the govt that will prosper..........AGAIN, politics and religion are two different matters altogether............................

why cant all us lebanese, regardless of religion, just stand up for eachother and forget about politics??????? put our religion and political group behind us and become ONE! now that will be a strong and perfect future for Lebanon! EXCEPT some bored and unemployed people in Lebanon just lay back, swear at others if they dont support their political group and do nothing to make lebanon a better place!

im really sad for lebanon..and no i never EVERRR want it to be under pure islamic rule. it is a multi-religious country and u have to realise that already!

Technically, it is possible for Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon (Iran is Persian-not Arab, so they probably wouldn't join in) to merge and create a single state, but this state probably wouldn't be Islamic. Despite common belief, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq- despite being Muslim majority states- are secular. In addition, it is unlikely that an Islamic state could be created without touching off a civil war between the Sunnis and the Shiites. If Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq merge, it will be to form a secular Arab state- not a religious one. Even if these countries become a single entity, the Arabs living there will most likely retain their sub-cultures (the Damascenes will still think of themselves as Damascenes, the Chaldean Iraqis will still think of themselves as Chaldean, etc.).

no. the time for empires is gone. i dont think people would like to live under an emperor, even those in Iran and Lebanon or Iraq wouldn't want a dictator. they'd stick to their elections
although i do think it's likely as Iranian power grows that the countries you mentioned will come closer as a pro-Iran bloc of nations.
