How can you trust someone who is using an organization in another country to try and destroy you?

How can you trust someone who is allied with the country who promised to wipe you off the map?

how can you trust someone who teaches his/her children that you must be killed?

.............easy you can't.

Peace will be possible in 5 cases
1.) syria is removed from the iran alliance
2.) syria stops funneling money, weapons, and support to hezbollah & hamas.
3.) syria provides legal documentation for sheb'a farms.
4.) Golan heights conflict will be resolved.
5.) peace treaty is formed between syria, lebanon & israel

The problem with (#2) is syria's dream is to assimilate lebanon into syria therefore froming greater syria, and to regain control of lebanon, it will be kind of hard for syria to let go of it's fanatasy hezbollah.

The problem with (#3) if syria provides documents for sheba farms this will mean hezbollah must end his resistance, since he claims he is there to liberate *his*land, when documents are shown that sheba is syrian land, hezbollah will be illegitemate.

The problem with (#4) is the geographic location of the Golan heights, it is right next to Israel, this is the dorr opened for the islamic brotherhood organization in syria to make terrorist attacks on the golan, that is why it is assad's responsibilty to forbid any operations from being carried out there. (That's if peace is achieved)

Overall, me personally i think peace can be achieved if every point is studied and analyzed each country must figure out the action and reaction of the ideas they will accept and put forward. Meaning if peace happens this will occur, if we withdraw this will occur, if you attack us this will occur, if we become allies this will occur, and so on.... etc .... they should tell each other the consequences and positive aspects of the situation.

If egypt and jordan did it, there's no doubt lebanon and syria can do it, time and patience and cooperaton must be in the hearts of the peacemakers.

If Syria wants to earn the trust of Israel it can start by not funneling weapons to Hezbollah

As for peace talks, they are worth a shot. One should never walk away from peace talks, even if it is a remote chance.

If Mr Assad has the same view as his father (Hand back the Golan then we'll talk about peace) then it's a non-starter - Israel is not going to hand back land of major strategic importance to a country it's still officially at war with.

*if* Israel hands back the Golan it will be after a treaty has been signed - as was giving the Sinai back to Egypt and a few acres back to Jordan.

Israel is occupying Syrian land and the Syrian will never trust the Israelis while they occupy their land. Ehud Olmert is a weak PM he can not deliver anything not to mention withdrawal from Syrian land.
