With or without avatars, it's their Q and A that show if this person is trustworthy or not. |

Yeah! It's like saying can you trust someone with a picture of a spider, a car, flower, etc. I dunno man maybe you avarist (racist of where one has or not avatar)

so long as they are being respectable then ok but if not they are blocked, it took me ages to suss out how to make one, for sure mine looks like me nottttttt! |
|

Crazy girl

Yeah i think you can just cos you have an avatar doesn't really mean your trust worthy just you have a picture next to your answer. You trust people from their answers knowledge and comments not what they look like or pictures they have. |

It depends on how they answer questions. There are tons of users here with avatar but are not worth paying attention because they're either full of hatred or nothing but crappy responses. |

Can you trust a user WITH an avatar?
It's a chance for people to lie, and pretend they look a certain way, that they perhaps wished they looked in real life.
i know everyone makes themselves look different in they're avatars, or even considers it. |

its not like it makes a difference |

Trust as in . . . ? To me whether a user has an avatar, or a photo, or nothing at all, it doesn't matter. You still don't know the person, although you may be able to tell to a certain extent by observing what he/she writes.
The reason why I don't use an avatar is because it distorts the others' perception of me. The avatar isn't the perfect representation of each user. The reason why I don't use a photograph is because I'm lazy and I can't be bothered to upload it. So I prefer to remain as a user with no avatar ;)

Trust doesn't come from the otter beauty for me, with or no avatar, it doesn't matter for me. I don't think it reflect the person's character . Maybe just part of it . My picture i like it because of the color i never liked the snake itself. I believe that avatars mostly shows more beauty than real persons are, while others shows the opposite. Have a good day. |

There is really no logical reason why we should be influenced one way or another by a "grey ghost" avatar, or by a Yahoo selections or even a personal or favourite "pic" one.
I remember back when I first came across Yahoo Q&As. I was a "grey ghost" for a few weeks until I worked out how to put an avatar into my profile etc.
I am a little technologically challenged with stuff like that,I have only recently found out how to make a link that actually works. Just wait until I work out how to do a "cut and copy"!
I think it is inbuilt into the human psyche to be wary of the unknown or the unidentifiable.
So while there is absolutely no reason for not trusting the old "grey ghost" avatar, I think that even on a subconsious level there is a certain amount of disassociation.
That is just my personal reaction,I feel the same when I see someone has no IM or email permitted and I have found from experience that the trolls and haters are the ones who never have an means of contacting them.
But they are always very ready to send you emails or IMs trying to tear you to sheds with criticisim and inciteful remarks. |
