I'd go googoo eyes at the baby as usual, read the book, find it doesnt help me so I get the pen and paper, write a will, break the violin on the floor to clear my anger and take the gun and shoot myself.

Pen and paper............so I can write a letter to someone when I'm mad and use my words as bullets , write my own music for a Violin, make paper dolls for a baby, draw a paint by number for someone else to paint and write about everything in my own book.

I'd take the Paint Brush so I can paint everything black .. black as my heart .. black as my soul .. and after I'm done I'm gonna take the pen and paper and write down how it feels like to be surrounded by black inside and out.

I'll give the violin to my woman so she can play a serenade while I paint everything black, and so add some life to this worthless act of defying existence.

As for the gun, I'll give it to the haters in this category so they can shoot themselves - a good riddance.

I would take the baby, because I don't have one and I want one very badly.

Don't want a gun; don't need a violin because I can't play; already have a paint brush and lots of books.

So I choose the baby, not out of default for the others but because it's absolutely the most life-changing and incredible choice in your list. I'm no Yo Yo Ma, but I'd really like to be a "Ma," you know what I mean?

That baby would be LOVED.

Well I'm pro-gun freedom, education, and responsible use.
I'm also a musician, but I've tried lots of instruments and violin just doesn't cut it for me.
I like to paint.
I like babies, but am in no situation to treat one well right now.
I like to read, but one book would last me a few hours only.

So, out of this, I would choose a pen and paper, because it would see the most use and create the most enjoyment.

If you offered guitar, piano, or drum set instead of violin, I would have taken that.

If the list appeared as you asked, minus the pen and paper, I would choose the gun.
