nope. I think a moderate climate would be much nicer. I do prefer Riyadh over the coasts in the summer time because it's not humid there. But, also all this dry weather is drying out my skin.

The dust storm reached us yesterday in the late afternoon. My husband said he could see it coming. I couldn't see much from home out of our windows because there are too many trees and houses in the way. but, he called right before it got here, and I could still see the sun, and in less than 5 minutes, I could no longer see the sun and it was all brown outside.

--- The weather in Riyadh is almost the same as the city I currently lives in, hot and dusty, perhaps its weather is not bad at nights when there isnâ€™t dusty and hot simoom, that is true, but it is not the only whether I have a problem with in Riyadh. The inefficient master plan of the whole city of Riyadh, the wasteful very long distances between dally places and common spaces which everyone needs to go to almost frequently. The high speed of traffic and drivers inpatient attitude, make me hate to travel around the city. Most green spaces/ areas in Riyadh are only design as streets beautification, with traffics/ cars oriented approach, not that many areas and facilities have been design for pedestrians, you do not feel that the city is encouraging human scale movement or interaction between people, at any where in Riyadh. You just experience fast cars movements and images of people moving very quick behind car window glasses. And since it is hot you feel it is much hotter than it suppose to be, and much harder even to enjoy the shade if any. That is my experience of beautiful weather of Riyadh. ---

AAaaa Nope only the opposite It gets extremely hot in the day and extremely cold during the nights you just have to be able to live in both extreme conditions spec in winter (proper desert weather)

I think South Africa has the most beautiful weather because it's hot in the afternoons but breezy and then all of a sudden the sun hides behind small clouds and little rain comes down and soothes the whole atmosphere.. It's amazing!

I heard you guys are having a severe dust storm today (Tues 10th)
it hasnt hit us here in Khobar yet...
Please let it drift somewhere else.. I suffered severe asthma and allergies during the last one.. I have to pull out my inhalers..

anyways.. I think Riyad in general is better than Khobar..
I'll take dry heat over humid heat anyday.. OH.. in our August, its like 100% humid and somedays up to 50C... its is really horrible..
you have to run out to your car just to cool it down.. My husband turns on the car a/c for a few minutes before we get in otherwise we cant breath in the car and the seats are so hot, once they burned me.. my son got burned by the metal on the car door.. its just too hot..
and forget about having a hair style.. by the time you get anywhere, its flat and sweaty and just hanging.. Thank God for scarves/hijabs.. they do wonders for hiding bad humid hair..
I can also remember walking out to the street one day and I could actually feel the heat of the pavement through the souls of my shoes.. Imagine?!!!!!!
id give anything to be on a Tahitian island sipping pineapple/coconut juice under a palm tree in a light breeze... mmm!

At this time the sky is orange because of the dust. You can't see more than 100m distance. :) . Weather is not bad at nights when there isnt dusty :).

NO Dude. i dont have complaints 'bout summer but winter.....the first winter when i came here was horrible. every year i plan to go India just to skip the winter here. i just luv rain but i hardly see it here. u r born here. so i'm sure u luv the saudi weather. but we expats miss rain & the cool breeze bro
