Israel doesnt need the US to attack Iran. In fact, if the US weren't holding the Israelis back, then they would be capable of creating peace in the middle east.

If the United States or Israel foolishly try to hurt Iran in any way then their dog, which is squatting on Iraq, is going down as well. Besides, if a small militia armed by Iran can scare Israel sh*tless like we saw in 2006, what do you think Iran will do? The dogs in the Gulf will be turned to glass if they side with the enemy. Before the bomb hits Iran, Israel and All US Soldiers in Iraq - Kuwait - U.A.E - Qatar - Saudi Arabia - Europe will be Removed from this world.

They have fairly good reason to, if you consider how much the US has aided them, and how the US is attacking countries without reason. Personally I can't think of anything stupider than attacking Iran, unless Americans want $9 gas. Besides, haven't they learned from Iraq? "Weapons of mass destruction" is a call to the paranoid. Iran has no nuclear weapons. At this point, even sanctions are absurd. When their nuclear enrichment program (PERMITTED BY THE NON PROLIFERATION TREATY) becomes a nuclear weapon act, the sanctions are necessary. For now, Bush is just seeking a new scapegoat. What amazes ME is that American people still fall for it.

I don't think so, but it would be funny if they do. It's 30 years they haven't attacked, it would be most surprising and a dumb thing if they do it now. Iran is at its strongest and America at it's weakest.

sophia, 1. $9 gas is because of the liberal held congress and senate for the last 37 years that will not allow drilling or new refineries. 2. iran is still pushing to go nuclear. 3. those weopons exist in the canaan valley of iran, we have the satalite footage of them being moved in the 8 months we gave saddam. 4. i cant belive people like you buy into the mainsteam, obama, cnn liberalism!

All of this is propoganda beautifully orchestrated by Canada to divert attention from their ever growing underground hockey army. Israel, Iran, and the US should team up and nuke the maple leaf.

Both sides would be hit hard if this war broke out. It would definitely be much worse for Iran than the US or Israel.

I'm afraid the government of Iran is living in a bubble. I guess they lie so often they are now believing their own lies! Iran is NOT even close to a global superpower... in fact it is hardly even a regional power. If Iran was stupid enough to launch any sort of agressive attack on its neighbors the extremely powerful Turkish military (supported by the US) and all the other US allies surrounding Iran would surely be able to launch a much better military campaign than Iran is capable of with its outdated military technology. Also, if Iran attacks other Muslim countries the common people will be very outraged (many of the elite take holidays to places like the UAE and have friends or family living in other parts of the gulf region). Public support for the Iranian gov't would be even lower, and the government's power would be threatened.

In the end, the current Iranian government leaders would almost certainly loose power, there would be utter chaos in Iran... and unless they attack Israel within the first few minutes of the conflict... Israel and the rest of the outside world would look the same as before the war. The cost of oil would go up, causing huge economic problems... but the situation in Iran would be much worse.

Let's hope that Bush, Israel and Iran are not so stupid to start any conflicts. Then when Clinton comes as Vice President (hopefully) everything can be sorted out diplomatically. ;-)

That article is so full of it. For example, quote:

The western world has always been talking about sanctioning and it has nothing to do with Iranian threats over oil. Alot of people agree that there hasn't been enough sanctioning. Any responsible country has to exhaust other possiblities before use of force. Military force is never taken off the table. Anyways, this iranian threat came after talks of Iran getting refined oil shut down to them! They may have lots of oil but they can't refine it. LOL

BTW, Iranian threats aren't just to western world. If they disrupted oil supplies the arab states and china would be feeling it too. Iran has a big head that just going to pop if they keep it up. Pop!

The American military isn't so inexperienced as to not consider how to keep oil lines open and we don't back down from threats and we didn't back down from any threat from Iran. I think the only people that thought that are the Iranian hopefuls.

As far as the question linked to this article, Israelis should not only think America will do whatever it takes for Israel, but they should know it. The President already expressed sentiment in speech to Knesset. America is least anti-semitic country in world and long standing supporter of Israel, we aren't going to change any of that now.

Unfortunately,yes they do.Not only that,the Jews have the necessary political power to make certain it gets done.Everyone had better realize this thing is going to happen.It is only a matter of when.Also,most people have no idea what the American air force is capable of doing.Fewer realize the plan is to eradicate more than Iran's nuclear capability.When the bombing campaign is over,Iran's people will be sitting on smoking rubble.

This Iraq war thing didnt quite work out the way geedubya planned,he should be shot for treason.
But if israel wanted to it could easily cripple Iran by taking out their fleet of antiquated 1970's F14's and soviet tanks.
