For necessary imunization when traveling the advisories issued by the World Health Organization are the guidline.
When thinking of shots regulations take in consideration infectious diseases at your point of departure (to prevent you from bringing diseases into the country you are intending to visit) and diseases prevailing at the country of destination to protect you from contracting them.
Within this context Egypt requires visitors coming from certain regions to hold a valid International yellow fever vaccination certificate.
But as a destination; the WHO doesn't recommend any specific kind of vaccinations as a precaution for travellers visiting Egypt, although it points out that there is a "very limited risk" of contracting Malaria in Al Fayoum area (90 Km west of Cairo) from June through october, and again there are no specific prevention recommendations.
For further information you can check the Egypt page on the WHO site on the following link:

The injections are optional. The first time i went to Egypt i had the injections required and it was a combined injection of Hepatitis and typhoid vaccination. It lasts a year and if you have a booster then it lasts for 20 years. I didn't have a booster and have been to Egypt many times without being covered by the vaccination and my mum went without the injection.
People don't bother with the injection and some people do it id totally your choice I'm not going to have another injection and i go every 2 months to Egypt and planning to live there and will not have the injection at all so don't worry just choose if you want it or not.
The doctors will know which injection you will need if you choose to have it. |

Just made sure we were upto date on our immunisations and advised not to drink the tap water as with many other countries!
Have a good Hol! |

you dont need any injections bec there are no epidemics here.
drink and brush your teeth with bottled water .
apply sunblock to avoid strong sunrays .
if you take specific medicines , bring them over with you to have them handy in case you need them.

I Think Not If You Already Had Your Vacinnaions But You Should Consult Your Doctor First And Someone Said The Water Was Lethal The Water Isn't Lethal I Drink It All The Time I Haven't Even Had Cold Or Any Other Illness For Approx. 2 Years Still.... You Should Drink Bottled Water |

Hi, You will need vaccinations for
1.Diphtheria
2.Hepatitis A (infectious hepatitis)
3.Tetanus
4.Typhoid
5.Yellow fever
You can avoid the typhoid vaccine if you promise to only drink bottled water bought in shops and supermarkets. There are many shops so dont worry.I am a travel agent and I'm kinda surprised your agent didnt tell you what to do.
Thanks. |
