the minister for transport should come to the uk and see how our city roads are set out. we have marked lanes for driving on and certain lanes for turning each direction. in cairo you need traffic lights, and pelican crossings for pedestrians. it would take months to sort out but would be worth it. half the cars should be banned for being death traps.
drivers have to have respect for other drivers and car insurance should be made compulsory.
i was in cairo once this year and have never seen anything like it. it was crazy. |

how about car pooling??
what we really need in the streets of Cairo is discipline. that can go a long way even if there are millions of cars in the street. |

Yes. The government should restrict private passenger vehicles from entering the city at certain times. Taxis, and scooters, motorcycles can be used and this will decrease traffic. |

I have a humble opinion:
1- moving many government buildings to another city. Also moving many public services to that new city.
2- moving the cemetery of Cairo to a far place and keep the area free from buildings, it can be a vast garden as a lung for the city.
3- establish new opportunity for work outside of Cairo for the unemployed.
4- allow only odd numbers of cars to run on certain days and even numbers on other days of the week. This is done in some cities in Latin America. |
