it is r duty to help others who do not have the means. from cleaning a house to donate food/ clothing, etc.
it is also a feeling of compassion.
being disabled and i do a lot for others but there some things i can't do and my neighbors see this and don't help. |

reward..material you mean ? no way
it's a reward alright but emotional, got to do with me feeling good
compassion sure, but duty ? no, it isn't my duty, i do it when i can, duty has to be done, there is no can or can't about it :) |

I dont expect a reward when i help something. It is both compassion and a sense of duty. |

Depends on who I help and what I do to help.
Rewarded, sometimes yes.
Compassion, sometimes yes.
Duty, sometimes yes.
If I help someone by lending them money I expect to be rewarded with some interest.
If I help a senior citizen with their bags it's compassion.
If I help give someone directions it's duty - good citizenship.
Thanks for asking. This is an EXCELLENT question. |

It's all about being empathetic. We should always be aware that the need experienced by other is never too far away from being experienced by you.
Yes, a feeling - empathy. Never a sense of duty. |

Styvies said it mate , i also just do it without expecting anything in return so even when you just get a thank you in return , it feels great , i do it to try and make a difference not for a reward. |

I get a great felling of satisfaction when I am able to help someone, wheither it is physically or financially. I do not expect anything in return for it because I believe that if we are able to do good unto others, it can only make our lives happier and fulfilled. It is our duty to do the right thing and I must admit that my compassion sometimes gets me into hot water. Nonetheless, it never stops me. |

The reward is when you have helped people in need and you feel the appreciation for what you did. Is it not a great feeling seeing that your help makes someone feel better. The reward is called appreciation and I have helped many people in the past and the appreciation usually brings tears to your eyes. Now what better reward can you get? It is better not to help should you expect a reward or something in return. |

Have you read Immanuel Kant or had an opportunity to study Kantian Ethics?
Though I agree with him that we have a moral duty to help those in need, I also believe that compassion is in some other many cases the motive. |

I help others, because I want to help them. If someone needs help, and I am able to provide that help, why would I leave them in need?
God bless! |

If I am in a position to help people I will. I would do it because it is the right thing to do. I would feel very guilty if I had a chance to help someone and just walked past. I wouldn't expect to be rewarded as I wouldn't consider it a trouble to me if I was able to help someone. |
