Do you (Jews) actually believe this?

Do you people actually believe that God gave you Palestine? I mean, would you believe me if i told you that god promised me let's say England? Would you believe me? Would the British believe that? and you expect us to believe you?
Additional Details
Ok, to make it better let's assume i wrote a book and said it is the word of god, and in that book( the title of it is The bible II) i wrote that God promised me England.

Shadi
They abused God's word. My answer has two parts:
(1) Children of Israel 3000 years ago (2) Todays Jews or Israelis

(1) They are chosen people as it is also mentioned in Quran. But CHOSEN FOR WHAT? The answer is in Exodus:
(Exodus 19:5-6) (5) 'Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;
(6) and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel."

It clearly states that in order to recieve the promise and to be the chosen people you have to obey God and keep the covenant. And in result Israel should be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation...

And if not:
(Leviticus 26:18) "If also after these things you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins."

So What happened then?

In the light of the Bible , the Jews have proven themselves to be sinners and transgressors making them unworthy of inheriting God's covenant with Abraham. These verses prove God's anger on children of Israel and the broken covenant:
(Gen 37:23-24) (Ex 16:19-20, 20:11-26, chapters 21-23 and Deut 31:27).(Ex 33:3-4) (Ex 34:11-16) (Deut 9:21-24, Num 11:1-6, Num 14:1-4) (Num 11:12-15) (Num 12:9-10, Num 14:10-34) (Amos 1:9-10) (Amos 1:11-12),(Amos 1:13-14) (Amos 2:1-3) (Amos 2:4-8) (Amos 2:10-11) (Amos 2:12)(Amos 9:9-10)(Amos 9:11-15)(Judges 3:7-8) (Judges 3:12-14) (Judges 4:1-3) (Judges 6:1-2) (Judges 10:7-9) (Judges 13:1) (Hab 1:1-17) (Nahum 1:2, 2:13 and 3:5) (Malachi 1:14, 2:2-3) (Malachi 2:7-9) (Malachi 2:13 and chapter 4).

That is why God promised to seal the fate of children of Israel:
(Obadiah verses 2-4). "Behold, I will make you small among the nations, you will be utterly despised. The pride of your heart has deceived..."
(Obadiah verse 118)"The house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau stubble; they shall burn them and consume them and there shall be no survivor to the house of Esau; for the Lord has spoken."

But He made an independent covenant with Ishmael to make him a great nation
(Genesis 17:20) "As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

The historical evidence shows that the Jews were excluded from the covenant of God to Abraham because He did not allow them to have a hold over Palestine but for brief periods, whereas God gave the power to the Muslims to rule for the longest period of time in the history of the land. Evidently God's covenant to Abraham was meant to be for the Arabs, the children of Ishmael.

(2) Jews Today:
isn't it odd that it is not the religious Jews who claim to be "God's Chosen People." It is the atheistic non-believing Jews who claim that honor. And they are today about 80%

Ashkenazi Jews who for political purposes chose Judaism and who don't have a drop of biblical Jewish blood in them. Today they are 80% of Jewish worldwide.

I think the real issue is in this verse which explains all these crimes done in the name of God:

(Revelation 3:9) "Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie--I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you."
(Revelation 2:9) "I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan."

JayJay
yeah and the evident is that this promise is called " balfour promise".

Cher JPA
Sadly you are using a Christian definition of chosen, then beating up on Jews for it.

God promised it -- just means that he's been very helpful at making Israel succeed & survive when -no one- expected them to, over & over again, against multiple armies. (US didn't support at the beginning.)

It's the UN that gave us Israel by declaring 82% of the British mandate to be Jordan, & the rest split into Jewish state where the majority was Jewish & Arab state where it was Arab. However, the Arabs turned that down. Even a tiny sliver of land for self-rule by anyone not Arab Muslim was too much in the region. Ask the Kurds, they are running into the same problem getting self rule.

what the jew gang has to understand is not everyone likes nor believes in the jew version of god. i mean really, the old testament is filled with incest (king lot) killing your brother- (cain and able) parting the 'red sea' (LOL) etc. its LUDICROUS. so therefore any jewish bully immigrating to Palestine and killing children are murderers and criminals. the jew version of god also says they are'chosen' its a very arrogant and ugly religion. i personally do not like it very much, nor the muslim one, for that matter, or parts of the christian one but we are not talking about that here. we are talking about the jew version that is really awful.

Well, they really believe it, because it is written in their history, however i do not believe that God is very happy with the way they have taken it.
I found this interesting video, and it gives a little history about how some Americans felt about it years ago, and things that happen then that leads to now.

And another site from yahoo that explains one persons view on the promise land.

It's such a sad situation. It's so bad over there for Palestinians.

Nemesis.
Let's assume that the land was promised to them. They did fight hard to get the land from the original inhabitants of the land who were the Canaanites, Amorites etc these people were pagans. The Canaanites, Amorites etc were defeated by the Israelities and the Israelites occupied the land and the land was divided into territories each of the tribe was given a territory. This land is now theirs and is the promised land. But what is surprising is that even though they have a land for themselves most of them are occupying other lands and are not staying in their promised land.Looks like they still have the raiding spirit.

Edit Just look at the td's!!!! coming from the people who consider themselves as lovely and every other person as anti Semite.Their action of td's is just a hint that describes how vile and antisemitic they actually are.

PaperbackWriter JPA
Some Jews do.

But actually, it's not the point. We have the only real claim in terms of historical, physical presence in the area that is now Israel.

Remember: Jordan takes up 82% of what was the region of Palestine.

Palestinian Jews have lived in that region for the past 3500 years, non stop. All the archaeological evidence supports this.

The very term 'Palestinian' always referred to Palestine - why do you think that the British used to shout at Jews: 'Go back to Palestine!' ???

The Palestine Post newspaper - a totally Jewish paper that then became the Jerusalem Post.

The Palestine Philharmonic Orchestra - totally Jewish also.

It is believed that Arabs and Jews are semitic, they are descendants of Abraham, so the paper you have is in concordance with religion.
Abraham has 2 sons . Isaac ( later to become Israel- father of jews) and Ishmael ( father of the Arabs)

THey do. They also think when their messiah comes he will destroy most of the gentiles and leave only a small remnant to serve the jews. It is said they will lick the dust from their feet.

G-d gave us Israel. It is in the Bible.

Palestine was a name the Romans gave to Israel in order to obliterate the connection between the Jews and their homeland.

Our claim to Israel is both religious and nistorical. Jews have had a continued presence in Israel for 3,000 years and have never relinquished their claim. Arabs rejected the United Nations resolution of November 29, 1947 calling for the establishment of two states in Palestine, with an all out war to eliminate Jews enacted by the Arab world. After the 1967 War -- another war of Arab aggression -- Israel recovered a small remnant (13% in whole) of what was promised to them by the UN -- eventually handing back the Sinai Desert for peace with Egypt in 1977.
Between 1948-1967, Jordan and Egypt, who governed the West Bank and Gaza, respectively, never offered to surrender those lands to form an independent Palestinian state. No Palestinian organization ever sought an independent state. No Arab country had even suggested its existence. An Arab Palestine has never been the name of any nation or state. 'Palestine' was a geographical term used only to identify administrative boundaries within larger empires, nothing more.
The purpose of a separate Palestinian State was defined faultlessly by the late Zoher Moessein, head of PLO bureau of military operation:
"There is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians and Lebanese; we are all members of the same nation. Solely for political reasons are we careful to stress our identity as Palestinians. Since a separate State of Palestine would be an extra weapon in Arab hands to fight Zionism with. Yes, we do call for the creation of a Palestinian state for tactical reasons. Such a state would be a new means of continuing the battle against Zionism, and for Arab unity."
An offshoot of the occupation myth is the 'refugee' fabrication. It states that a significant portion of the Arab population was driven out of Israel by force during the 1948 War. It makes for good copy, but it's false. Egyptian activist, Edward Said, the most famous of these "refugees," for example, has been exposed as a fraud, as has this revisionist history.
Mark Twain, a man, one would think, as devoid of 'imperialistic Zionist' intentions, wrote in 1867 that Palestine was "a desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds." Yet, Arabs have claimed that over a million refugees were forced from their homes during the 1948 War of Independence -- this number includes Arabs whose relatives entered Israel from 1946 onward. The number of Arab refugees is probably closer to 400,000, most of whom took it upon themselves to flee despite Jewish assurances that they would not be harmed. The contention that Arabs were removed by gunpoint is totally incorrect. Research by the Arab-sponsored Institute for Palestinians Studies in Beirut found that "the majority of the Arab refugees in 1948 were not expelled and 68 percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier."
In her meticulously researched book, From Time Immemorial, Joan Peters proves that a roughly equivalent number of Jewish refugees were expelled from Arab nations during the same period -- 120,000 from Iraq alone. It is estimated that one million immigrants were integrated into Israel's society from 1948-1950.
None of them, on the other hand, were confined for life to refugee camps.

^ PaLo ^
unfortunately yes they do believe this and its making the situation harder.

oh for gods sake dont mention quotes from the koran that you dont understand. This was ancient history, yes the tribe of israel were the chosen people and god preferred them to all his creation. He gave them chance after chance and they disappointed him time after time. They disobeyed god and in the end worshiped a golden cow instead of him. God then cursed them and they were lost in the desert for thousands of years. what they are saying is not relevant now, its ancient history. Jews come from everywhere around the world and they share a common religion not ancestory.

David S
Someone said that most Protestants also believe that God gave Jews their land. (NOT Palestine--it was Kna'an or Caanan, never historically "Palestine" !)

Actually most Protestant denominations are Replacement Theology churches, and many are anti-Israeli. Some evangelicals do agree with the Bible and Jews on Israel being given its land by God. Sadly, even tis is eroding.

Can we share? We do--80% of the Mandate of Palestine is already in Palestinian hands, and even inside Israel over one million Arabs live, work, vote as citizens.

I belive in Gods word.

For you the Old testement isn't good enough, so I went to another sorce.

THE QUR'AN SAYS:

"To Moses We [Allah] gave nine clear signs. Ask the Israelites how he [Moses] first appeared amongst them. Pharoah said to him: 'Moses, I can see that you are bewitched.' 'You know full well,' he [Moses] replied, 'that none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth has revealed these visible signs. Pharoah, you are doomed.'"

"Pharoah sought to scare them [the Israelites] out of the land [of Israel]: but We [Allah] drowned him [Pharoah] together with all who were with him. Then We [Allah] said to the Israelites: 'Dwell in this land [the Land of Israel]. When the promise of the hereafter [End of Days] comes to be fulfilled, We [Allah] shall assemble you [the Israelites] all together [in the Land of Israel]."

"We [Allah] have revealed the Qur'an with the truth, and with the truth it has come down. We have sent you [Muhammed] forth only to proclaim good news and to give warning."

[Qur'an, "Night Journey," chapter 17:100-104]

SHAYKH PROF. PALAZZI COMMENTS:

God wanted to give Avraham a double blessing, through Ishmael and through Isaac, and ordered that Ishmael's descendents should live in the desert of Arabia and Isaac's in Canaan.

The Qur'an recognizes the Land of Israel as the heritage of the Jews and it explains that, before the Last Judgment, Jews will return to dwell there. This prophecy has already been fulfilled.

Get ready, Old Testament and Qur'an are saying the same.

By G-d, I assume you are referring to One G-d rather than the idolatrous gods which the peoples in Canaan worshiped. Here the Jewish Religion developed and the People of Israel established their state known as Israel which is the only state to have ever been established in the ENTIRE Land of Israel, where Israel is the other name of Jacob whose 12 sons are the Children of Israel. The reason Israel was successful was that BEFORE reentering from the Land on Ammon (related to Israel and Moab), those descendants of Jacob's children received whether Divinely or not a set of Laws referred to as the Torah. The Torah and the Land of Israel are inseparable. Islam too is based on the SAME Torah. The problem with Islam is that it thinks it has all the answers and is meant to supersede both Judaism and Christianity, but THIS belief is predicated on a FALSEHOOD, at least as far as Judaism is concerned. Thus, you have your beliefs and we have ours!

The land of Israel was promised to the Jewish people not the Palestinians.Israel belongs to the Jews and was theres for more then 3000 years. “Nobody does Israel any service by proclaiming its 'right to exist.'

Israel's right to exist, like that of the United States, Saudi Arabia and 152 other states, is axiomatic and unreserved. Israel's legitimacy is not suspended in midair awaiting acknowledgement....

There is certainly no other state, big or small, young or old, that would consider mere recognition of its 'right to exist' a favor, or a negotiable concession.”A common misperception is that all the Jews were forced into the Diaspora by the Romans after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in the year 70 C.E. and then, 1,800 years later, suddenly returned to Palestine demanding their country back. In reality, the Jewish people have maintained ties to their historic homeland for more than 3,700 years. The Jewish people base their claim to the Land of Israel on at least four premises: 1) the Jewish people settled and developed the land; 2) the international community granted political sovereignty in Palestine to the Jewish people; 3) the territory was captured in defensive wars and 4) God promised the land to the patriarch Abraham.

Even after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and the beginning of the exile, Jewish life in the Land of Israel continued and often flourished. Large communities were reestablished in Jerusalem and Tiberias by the ninth century. In the 11th century, Jewish communities grew in Rafah, Gaza, Ashkelon, Jaffa and Caesarea.

The Crusaders massacred many Jews during the 12th century, but the community rebounded in the next two centuries as large numbers of rabbis and Jewish pilgrims immigrated to Jerusalem and the Galilee. Prominent rabbis established communities in Safed, Jerusalem and elsewhere during the next 300 years. By the early 19th century — years before the birth of the modern Zionist movement — more than 10,000 Jews lived throughout what is today Israel.1 The 78 years of nation-building, beginning in 1870, culminated in the reestablishment of the Jewish State.

Israel's international "birth certificate" was validated by the promise of the Bible; uninterrupted Jewish settlement from the time of Joshua onward; the Balfour Declaration of 1917; the League of Nations Mandate, which incorporated the Balfour Declaration; the United Nations partition resolution of 1947; Israel's admission to the UN in 1949; the recognition of Israel by most other states; and, most of all, the society created by Israel's people in decades of thriving, dynamic national existence.
Israel never belonged to the Arabs. The term "Palestine" is believed to be derived from the Philistines, an Aegean people who, in the 12th Century B.C.E., settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what are now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century C.E., after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word "Filastin" is derived from this Latin name.

The Hebrews entered the Land of Israel about 1300 B.C.E., living under a tribal confederation until being united under the first monarch, King Saul. The second king, David, established Jerusalem as the capital around 1000 B.C.E. David's son, Solomon built the Temple soon thereafter and consolidated the military, administrative and religious functions of the kingdom. The nation was divided under Solomon's son, with the northern kingdom (Israel) lasting until 722 B.C.E., when the Assyrians destroyed it, and the southern kingdom (Judah) surviving until the Babylonian conquest in 586 B.C.E. The Jewish people enjoyed brief periods of sovereignty afterward before most Jews were finally driven from their homeland in 135 C.E.

Jewish independence in the Land of Israel lasted for more than 400 years. This is much longer than Americans have enjoyed independence in what has become known as the United States. In fact, if not for foreign conquerors, Israel would be 3,000 years old today.

Palestine was never an exclusively Arab country, although Arabic gradually became the language of most the population after the Muslim invasions of the seventh century. No independent Arab or Palestinian state ever existed in Palestine. When the distinguished Arab-American historian, Princeton University Prof. Philip Hitti, testified against partition before the Anglo-American Committee in 1946, he said: "There is no such thing as 'Palestine' in history, absolutely not."

Prior to partition, Palestinian Arabs did not view themselves as having a separate identity. When the First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to choose Palestinian representatives for the Paris Peace Conference, the following resolution was adopted:

Yes,'we people',Jews know that G-D promised the land of Israel for eternity. There has always been Jews living in what the Romans called Palestine & many never left.

The European Jews bought Arab land thus legally belongs to Israel. Not only that but with the reestablishment of Israel many Arab states started aggressive wars against Israel & we won every one! Name one other country who won land then supposed to give it back,NONE..

When will you people Arabs stop whining & get over the fact Israels here to stay? You have enough Islamic countries & IF you ever acknowledged Israels right to live in peace there'd be peace & prosperity throughout the mid-east...

Jews believe that they lived in this land and that it has been the recognized national home of the Jewish people. No other people in history had sovereignty.

The Arabs for the most part came to Palestine as conquerors in the time of Umar (Omar) and thereafter during the Muslim expansion. Arabic was not spoken here before then.

Religious beliefs are a different matter.

If a Jew or Muslim asked a British person "Do you people actually believe that Queen XX is sovereign by the grace of god" it might be insulting, but that is what it says on British coins. How about "Do you people actually believe that a virgin gave birth?" - Don't you celebrate this at Christmas??

Some Muslims actually believe that all of Palestine is a holy waqf given to the Muslim people by Allah - an assertion you can find in the Hamas charter. Other Muslims believe that Allah commanded them to conquer the entire world, just as "you people" believe or believed that everyone must be converted to Christianity.

Do "you people" really believe that Jews murder little Christian children to make Matzas?

Do "you people" actually believe that god gave you a license to be arrogant and to ask insulting questions about "You people?"

Not only do the Jews believe that but a vast majority of Christians believe that as well.
It is DOCUMENTED!
The documents of the Old Testament and the New Testaments are valid historical accounts. Whether you like to believe that or not. The assessments of those books stand the test of time and scholars the same way the the manuscripts of Alexander the Greats biography do.
If you dismiss those books as false and fiction then you would have to apply the same assessment on all of our ancient histories. Which would leave a huge void in all that you currently know and believe of Alexander the Great.
Okay?
They are valid histories; just as valid as the histories of Assyria, or Babylon, or Egypt.
So yes; the Jews and the Christians do believe that God almighty, the God of Abraham Issac and Israel GAVE THE LAND TO HIS CHOSEN.
You don't have to like nor agree with it but the facts stand out in history and the Jews have not left the land at all. They have always been there holding on to even after the Christ was nailed to the cross and up to 1948 the Jews have always inhabited the land.
