Ahmad, I think you didn't read the article thoroughly or else you would have noticed that in no part of it did they mention pork or pork products. The thing they use is "Rennet, a chemical sourced from calves' stomachs", not from pork. This is simply a warning for vegetarians that these products contain animal products in them and are thus no longer suitable for vegetarian consumption. You must know that the cheese we all eat of course contains rennet too. No way are we going to say don't eat cheese, are we?! It's the same thing brother. However, jazak Allah kol kheir for caring.

Brother Ahmed,' Masterfoods have apologised and reversed their decisionto use animal rennet.This is due to many objections and complaints it recieved from muslims and vegetarians. The products listed in the mediafor change will remain halal.

A calf or calves is a baby cow. Not pork. The chemical, rennet, is associated with being able to process milk and dairy products. Nothing to do with pigs.

How bloody stupid. I am a carnivore but I think it is wrong and down right idiotic of this company to put animal products in again when they have done finely without.

How many people do they want to lose custom from? Vegetarians, moslems, jews are just three parts of our society who will either totally stop eating their stuff or will need to do research on halal/kosher grounds before deciding.

I rarely eat stuff like this but with knowledge of the risks from some animal products (especially diseases like BSE/CJD) I will be avoiding them totally.

I will NOT BE BUYING THEM until they see sense and take these ingredients out.
