A lovely small hotel, with no disco etc anywhere near. If only I could afford it, ha, ha! |

I love caravans, but I prefer a tent. Normally you only sleep in them. The rest of the time you should be out in the fresh air...climbing, swimming, braaing, fishing, playing, star gazing, sitting around a fire.....etc.
A Hotel is fine...but overated. What is there to do except shower sleep and swim in a pool dosed with far too much chlorine, and fine, you do not need to make your bed. I have been to many! I still want my tent! |

Most of the people here are spoiled and don't no what they miss
Camping is for kings and I loved it , but its not safe any more Back in the good old days we camp with tent or caravan and enjoy every single bit of it
Cooking ,braai, rain, storms holding the tent while the storm passes you will never get this experience any where else enjoying the nature in a Hotel ha what is there to enjoy?

I am not a big Caravan fan - a Caravan holiday is like saying:
"I want to get away go and rough it - but not too much"
I will either go and stay in a nice hotel or I will rough it properly with Tents, Torches and Tarantula's
LOL - Please find a pic of my daughter enjoying roughing it...

My mum's part of 7 and between my aunts and uncles we have 3 caravans. I grew up with the camping tradition. Every year between the 26th Dec and 4th Jan you'll find me at the beach camping. I love it!!!!
Quite choatic with us all needing to find a place to sleep and you usually have to get up damn early to get hot water or otherwise boil water and wash in the skottel!!!
Its fun man coming back all tanned and loads if wahsing filled with sand and smelling like the sea.
Those were part of the best memories I've had!!! |

I prefer a holiday in a flat, chalet or hotel. It is more for the comfort than anything else. |

I don't like caravans that much, because it's so cramped and not safe anymore. I love staying in holiday resorts in the self-catering chalets. Love the one in Upington, although it's always a sad affair with all the feral cats who come begging for food. Wish I can take them all home. Also the holiday resort in George is comfy and a nice place to spend a holiday, but I can swear I once saw a giant spider against a wall. We couldn't find it, so now, everytime we go there I can't stop scanning the walls for spiders. lol.
No to caravans, yes to self-catering chalets. No to hotels too, as I like my privacy.
Add: LOL. Too late, cheri. I opened it right after I posted my answer. |
