No one can Hamas is only small part of an international party called the Muslim Brother hood. They are the oldest political party in the Muslim world.
The Israeli are fooling themselves. |

unfortunately, no
however, they can reduce the number of hamas terrorists, which will make israel safer
also, a ground invasion would capture most of their missile launchers |

I hope Israel can find enough of them to let the decent people of Palestine live a little more peacefully. |

It will severely maim them, yes. But it won't get rid of them for good, unfortunately.
As for the above answers, Hamas makes the wrong investments. As someone said in a different post, they don't care about the Palestinians: "If they did they wouldn't use their own people as shields and would spend money on food, shelter, and education instead of weapons".
And, by the way, if you think that if a soldier fires at an attacker and that attacker proverbially suddenly lifts up a child to take the bullet that the soldier is a murderer... I think we can agree there's something wrong with that logic. Death of innocents is a tragedy. I'm not saying it's not a terrible and heart-wrenching thing the Gazans are experiencing. I just cannot understand Hamas' supporters. And as heroic it may seem to blow oneself up in sacrifice of dozens and fire without warning I cannot fathom the train of thought that could lead a person to consider themselves a pacifist and Hamas to be riteous when it not only terrorizes the unfortunate people under its regime but also makes way to terrorize the very people that have made great attempts to reconcile.
Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone, but it's just what I think.
Cheers,

No it won't. Even if the IDF tracked down and killed every last card-carrying member of Hamas, they still have children, family, friends, supporters, sympathizers - and who knows how they will react to the death of their nearest and dearest? You can kill a member of Hamas, but you can't kill the "idea" of Hamas, not with bombs anyway. Of course, this goes the other way as well. Hamas's goal of destroying Israel is equally doomed to fail.
It is interesting listening to Tzipi Livni. She actually believes that the Palestinians can be intimidated by a "shock and awe" campaign, which is very naive. They should have called this "Operation Flaming Vengeance", because that's what it is.
This is what happens when politicians are allowed to author military strategy - they only ever seem to plan as far as the next election. |

Yes
what do you suggest Cannoli peace only works when both sides agree to it, the pals have demonstrated their opposition to it
I respect and I'm envious of your compassion and empathy but unfortunately we're dealing with an enemy that doesn't share these altruistic traits.
I'm not dehumanizing just stating the facts.
Without people like me you would be dead. |

Alot better than the Hamas are able to rid the area of Jews.
Have they even tried to find the Israeli military yet? Those uniforms confusing to them? |

WELL, not all of them, many but not all, no one ever said Israelis are perfect. |

The current level of strikes will not get rid of Hamas.
The only way that would happen is if their was another group in line willing and able to take power.
A multinational Arab force led by Egypt would be an option, but one that is unlikely to occur.
Though I do not think the goal is getting rid of Hamas, the goal is to make rocket fire against their interests. Basically to make it so costly to fire rockets that they will be unwilling to do it. |

Although Hamas has its headquarters in Gaza, it has received both international support and international condemnation. The support or condemnation that matters though is usually now paper, and issued by either a government or a central bank. Even though I support Israel and would like to see Hamas to either recant terrorism or be destroyed as an organization, I know as long as an organization has money, this is extremely hard to do. |

No and I don't think Israel does either.
Hamas is just a word. It's the people that make up the group.
There will always be Muslims crying for the death of all Jews.
They can at least take them down so far they can't assault any longer. They can stop the terrorist from acting.
That's worth plowing Gaza to me. |

NO way.
More these jews keep up with their nasty projects of killing the poor innocent civilian, wider & stronger Hamas will be. |
