You ask an interesting question. You also make an excellent point by referring to this purely defensive mission of mercy as a "war" (in quotes). Relative to your question, you must be culturally sensitive to the differences between western civilization and Hamas (and, to an extent, Arab and/or Mohammedan weltanschauung, in general). Hamas does not care about any individual life. That is why they have murdered numerous Arab children and put on a show blaming Israel in order to gain world sympathy. In some ways, they are better at manipulating the press than is Israel. In the end, if Hamas survives, it will have been worth it for the terrorists.

1. Those in the international community that were solid supporters of either side, have not changed, in fact I would argue that many European states are more understanding than they were during the Lebanon fiasco.

2. Hamas was already indoctrinating this wherever it could, it is hard to value which was worse, letting them freely continue to teach hate to the next generation, or allow them to use this war as a catalyst to their cause.

3. Long term hatred will hinge on a final agreement with the Arab world as well as their quality of life. Israel and Egypt have been at peace for 20 years, that has done little to reduce the level of hate.

No, I think Hamas has made it clear that they are not interested in peace and that they must be destroyed. The biggest mistake the terrorist have made is that they have run out of virgins for the dead.

I notice the Muslims here all support the doings of Hamas while the Jews support Israel. The problem with Jews and Muslims is not religious; they just don't listen to each other and are biased; it's disturbing that folks who call themselves believers of one God are so blinded by Religious Politics. What is going on today is not new; Palestine leaders have always evoked disturbance to get sympathy; Hamas is a terrorist group backed by Iran whose aim is to create confusion between the Jews and Palestinians...it's no secret. The Jews are no angels but through the years they have tried to make peace only to see it shattered by terrorist acts; the same happened during the reign of Arafat. This behavior is a custom that can be traced to Arabia way before the days of the Prophet Mohammad...It's not Religious and Muslims who support this are ignorant of the true Muslim doctrines.
Yes; Hamas has obtained it's objective; Palestinians are dying by the Hundreds and the world is blaming Israel. Hamas doesn't care how many innocent are killed; they only care about winning against all odds...and they have won; while they blame the US for supporting Israel, US citizens are demonstrating against the killing of Palestinians.
Personally, I think the Palestinians would welcome peace but Hamas won't allow this; the only hope is for the Palestinians to rise up as one and get rid of the monster in their midst...Hamas is the problem; the people deserve better leadership. The best solution is the total destruction of the Hamas Muslim terror organization.

Gazans who wish to live in peace alongside Israel should be encouraged to do so. All terrorists should be killed in battle or taken prisoner and released only after they reach the age of 80.

The Muslims should renounce terror and revise the Quran to eliminate the anti-Jewish and anti-Christian suras.

I have a different take on this actually. I think the current war has been lost by Israel, as it has lost all or caused all of these things due to it's war crimes in Gaza. Even a top Israeli government official said that this action has made Israel less secure, and probably the US too in my own opinion, and possibly the UK to a lesser extent.
I also fail to see how Hamas could have a goal to achieving these things when they were the ones who were attacked. It is just common sense. You cant just say I have these goals in mind, in case were are attacked this is my wish list.
@Fatima- I agree with your post to a certain extent, except to say that the Palestinian and Israeli PEOPLE want peace. Israels government and Hamas however do not. They are both like spoilt children who want their own way, and don't care who gets hurt during the ensuing temper tantrum. Neither one is willing to compromise or listen and because of this, peace will never happen. I don't think matters will change regardless of who is in charge of Palestine, unless they are willing to give in all the way to Israeli demands, and even then I don't think it will be good enough.
