well yes i do ...but i have to admit that i trust older ones more
maybe cause they are more experienced doctors (no offense)
but still i do trust young doctors and maybe also they would be more opened to advanced medications and treatments,in addition to modern and more developed technology .
plus i must trust young doctors cause i'm planning to become one soon ( well soon would be ...MMmmm let's say like about 7 years from now lol ) ...
so if i don't trust young doctors,i won't be able to trust the person i'll become .
btw....don't worry, I BELIEVE in you :D |

ok..generally speaking, i don't trust doctors..but i do when i sense that he knows what he's talking about, i don't like the snobish doctors at all (most doctors are like that)
i like in a doctor the way he treats the patient and i m not talking about the private clinics i mean how he treats poor people because i ve seen a lot..and yes poor people are mostly ignorant and hard to handle (sometimes may be pain in the neck) etc..
but to answer your question briefly..yes i trust some young doctors unless proven otherwise! |

Depends a little where (which country), and which branch of medicine… I will trust a good plastic surgeon than an old one (lots of new advanced methods now there ,most of the old doctors do not want to read / believe in new technology in medicine)… can be also for Dentistry and Ophthalmology (especial if called hasafer,, lol)
edit:Ok I will be more honest and more open: two of my best friends are Dr. Mostafa Hemada, and Dr. Hani Hegazy the first is the head of plastic surgery of Ain Shams University, and the second is just a young one, Dr Hemada is a brilliant doctor, but more traditional, does not believe in laser / light ,crystal scrubbing ,lipolysis,…etc,, believes only in surgery, does not want or believe in any alternative, Dr Hani has a very modern center where he applies all the new methods in his field,, till the third generation (the latest ) light therapy,,, this is only an example
hahaha: if i tell you stories (really funny ones related to how to operate machines ,new methods..etc)like that (you know I am in the field) ,lots will think twice to go to an old doctor (but not all branches as i said)
edit again: I know a famous one (but will not mention the name) who always gives his assistant his mobile to answer as he is so lazy to know and read how to operate it...(true story) |

It's like an airline pilot ...I always feel more comfortable when I see that the captain has some gray hair !
That's not to say that younger people aren't capable , just that you cannot learn everything out of books & experience takes time.
Keep at it mate... |

I actually don't trust any doctor. I went to the doctor two years ago and I was suffering from short breath. They did all kinds of tests to me and they found that I have a problem in my heart but they didn't give me any medicine. They didn't help me at all. My condition is getting worse and worse everyday.
Also, last wednesday, I broke my toe and I had internal bleeding. My whole foot became blue and violet. It is so painfula and I can't walk on it well. I went to the doctor and she didn't do anything to me. She said go home put ice on it and then stick the two toes together.
So stupid, they don't help at all.
Peace |

My freind Mohammad came here to America to have special surgery! He was on his motorbike in Egypt where he lives and someone in a car hit him doing serious damage to his pelvis are. The doctors operated on him in Egypt and they could not do anything more so he came here to America and he got a job at a donut shop and thats where I met him! We became freinds and he asked me if I could drive him to the hospital (its about 1 hour away ) Its a University Hospital with very good surgeons! I took him down about 6 times and now he is 100% better! He is so happy now ! Now he got special insuance and it did not cost him anything!!! now hes getting some teeth worked on. Now the surgeon who who did all the surgery is a Jew ! Im not saying all the doctors there a bad ,their not! even here theres bad ones ! Peace |

Well, older doctors were young ones someday, just keep up learning and gaining more experience and you will be fine
OK, I trust them for superficial stuff, but when it comes to operations or surgery, I prefer experienced doctors, no offense. men 3'eer za3al ya3ny :D
BTW, when I graduated, no one trusted me for a piece of design. Now I am responsible for a whole segment of a large project in the fabulous city of Dubai |

I don't trust doctors in Egypt at all, not the famous or richest or the ones with the most expensive fees, we don't have education in our faculties and they practice without any academic professionalism
I have got about 5 doctors in my family & the only ones that really understand & well educated is who learned & practiced for a period outside Egypt |

I tend to trust young doctors more, because they just graduated and therefore have all of the latest information, and do have their residency for experience also, and often seem more kind and patient than older ones, (not always true though) many older doctors have more experience as well because of years treating symptoms over and over.
lol.....now maybe I can't get thumbs down? Is there an angry doctor running around? Cheers! |

Yes I do. I must know that he/she has a good reputation, then no problem at all with me. I even feel that a young doctor may have more patience, is more willing to prove himself and more fit so I can call late if necessary. |

For me it has nothing to do with age. I have been to very famous and very expensive doctors who have turned out to be complete idiots. I threw away the prescription as soon as I got home and didn't even bother to buy the rubbish they prescribed!
Other doctors I've been to have proved themselves to be very efficient despite their young age. They appear to know what they are talking about, are confident, and most important are attentive to what I say and have time to answer my questions without treating me like an idiot who has no right to question them as some of the older doctors do.
What I look for in a doctor is knowledge, efficiency and confidence along with the courtesy to treat patients as human beings, not just as case numbers whom he tolerates only for the sake of their money. I expect to get answers to my questions and to be heard out carefully. If any doctor has those qualities I don't care how old he is.
Edit:
I think you asked this question before, didn't you?! What's the matter? Doubting yourself before your exams or what? Don't! I think you will make a very good doctor ... just don't tell your patients to swallow you know what! ;) |

yes especially when many people who knows that doctor to be good at his young age... but if you are hearing bad side comments about that doctor, try to find another... heheh... |

I trust that most doctors, regardless of their age, know what they are doing and will do it well.
They've gone through many years of school, specialized training in most cases, and residency programs. I've gone to older and younger doctors alike and to be honest, I've thought of more of the older doctors as 'quacks & nutjobs' than I have of the younger doctors as incompetent or lacking.
Just like people in other professions or social circles, all doctors have different personalities and ways of doing things... and just as with those other people, you get along better with some doctors than others and you trust them more. :) |

Yes, it will depend on how confident that they appear in their knowledge.
No disrespect meant to anyone but Ive noticed a lack of confidence in young doctors in Egypt, it comes from the hierarchy of all should worship the professors, well question what they know rather than just thinking that person has more experience. |

I think youd have to define young. It seems like most doctors go through so much schooling that they arent that young by the time they are doctors. However, Im sure young doctors don't have as much knowledge as older doctors, but medicine seems like a field where your either good at what you do, or you aren't. Ive heard plenty of recommendations from people concerning doctors of all ages and i think that the quality of a doctor has more to do with work ethic and the doctors skill and quality of work in his given field then it has to do with age. |

Hmmm...honestly, it depends. I've had both good and bad experiences with young and older doctors. On the one hand, younger doctors may be a bit more schooled in the latest methods and treatments available, but the drawback is that they don't necessarily have the experience behind them that an older doctor would have.
I think that as long as the doctor showed that they were knowledgable, compassionate and competant, I would feel that I could trust a young doctor. |

i trust a dr who has the doctorate degree and has a good reputation.
i insist on the doctorate degree bec he has to pass exams and convince the examining committee that he is efficient in All specialisations and specifically in his specialization.
a good reputation is necessary bec others have ben treated by him and remmend him.
a dr can be thus qualified at about the age of 30.
those who are younger are still learning .
i can trust them in simple matters that do not include surgery. |
