I love Shakira! Her face, her body, her moves. Her voice? I agree with you. I downloaded all of her albums and I had to delete most of her songs 'coz her voice is not so pleasant to the ears. The only two songs that I believe fit her unique voice are the "La Tortura" and "Ojos Asi". She's born in Colombia to a Lebanese father and a mother of mixed Colombian and Italian descent and she's Roman Catholic.

She is Catholic, not Muslim. And she is half Lebanese and half Colombian.
And i do agree with you, her voice is not too great. It does sound annoying, yuck. I like one of her songs La Tortura which is in Spanish, and she sounds okay there.

Honestly I think she gained international fame for her dancing, not for her voice.

I think her dad is lebanese but shes more spanish or whatever. and i have no idea what her religion is

I think her voice is deep and really strong and it would be great if she sang in Arabic...this is why it doesn't sound good in English

I hate it when people say that shakira's voice is anoying! it is a very unique style, and i feel sorry for thoes of you that can't except that she has a diffent style voice than your typical pop princess. if you choose not to like her voice, fine. just remember that she has sold over 30 MILLION CDs. She has a LOT of fans. Please don't insult her like that. And she's Cathlic.
