I have a very big collection of pipes and includes pipes from Hendrik Schoeman and Pik Botha ! The one from Hendrk Schoeman is a ''kromsteel'' Peterson and the one from Pik Is a huge ''kam'' Buyford ! Pik actualy threw his in the fire but I rescued it in time .Others from my collection are : Mac Nub ,Pirelly ,Medico ,Peterson ,and Mannheim .
I love smoking pipe on special occasions . Hollands house aromatic with maybe a little Cherry Cavendish gives a nice aroma that the women simply love . I prefer something more aromatic and spicy like Rum and maple mixed with Ridgeback . Smoking pipe , the smell of Old Spice , the taste of old French Cognac and the smell of preserved Salami will always be my favorite things in life !

Yes they do. I wrote matric in 2003. When everyone else went to smoke skelm in the bathroom, this guy in my class would get out his pipe tabacco and pipe and head for the bathroom to join them.

I guess pipe smoking is just not as popular as it used to be, but it's definetly still alive.

Yes I know quite a few people young and old mostly men that still smoke pipe. They sometimes start smoking pipe to try and quit smoking cigarettes. I have also tried smoking pipe (you get these beautiful pipes for ladies with silver and ivory, probably fake ivory, "stele". Forgot now what the English word is for a pypsteel....and not cheap either, from R 550 upwards) but my husband objected NON STOP AND SEVERELY.....so I gave up to keep the peace. It is anyway very trickey to light a pipe. You have to use a match, a lighter doesn't work. I love the smell of pipe smoke, rum and maple tobacco smells the best.
I wonder if in the rural areas of Transkei the Xhosa women still smoke those Long "steel" pype?

My dads uncle has, although he's not meant to smoke.
He doesnt though, so it hangs of his bottom lip with nothing coming out of it. Suppose its cause of habit.

Yes sir, I do. Like Heavy D, enjoy to mix my 'own' mixture for the taste and aroma. I only smoke my pipe at home and on the patio. It is so relaxing smoking my pipe and just chill.

That brings back memories of my dad smoking his pipe. I have not seen anyone do that for a while.

I,m sure alot of the older generation (and some young) still do. I can still smell the tobacco from my grand-dad's pipe, it was very pleasant. I don't smoke but will sit with Blue Bull on his patio taking in those aromas anyday! Is that Okay Blue Bull?

I don't know when last i have seen someone smoking a pipe. I love the smell of Rum and Maple and Old Spice as well, my kids class it as a old-fashioned smell but i love it, smells manly.:)

My dad does. He told us that when he was 13 he used to sneak into jazz clubs and smoke a pipe. So for his 50th birthday we clubbed together and got him one. Every once in a while he brings it out, and looks like he comes from another era. I tried it once. It smells delicious, but tastes awful!

My grandma does she has one of those long traditional pipes.
