Muslims and Christians are not allowed to convert to Judaism, does that mean we all born to go to hell just because or parents are not Jews? There is no other option for us? |

Anyone can convert to Judaism.
And Judaism teaches that EVERYONE who leads a righteous life here on earth, reaches heaven - whatever their religion.
You seem to be confusing us with Christianity; they do believe that anyone who doesn't embrace Jesus as messiah will burn in eternal hell.
COMMENT TO MALKA
- what a spiteful remark to make to me. I have never said one unkind thing to you, even when you blocked me while still answering my posts.
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
COMMENT TO MIMI *****************************
Mimi, you are now giving answers that are as good as any Jewish person would have given!! That was a really good response. You know a lot more about Judaism than I know about Islam, I think ! :) |

Not allowed to convert to Judaism according to whom? Judaism does not place these restrictions on the followers of those two religions, so that restriction must come from the religions themselves. If that's the case and one is leaving that religion anyway, what difference does it make?
Either way, this is another case of someone seeing the world only through his own lense. In both Christianity and Islam, non-believers are considered infidels who will be cast down to the fiery gates of hell for all eternity for the simple crime of non-believing. This is not the case in Judaism; Judaism requires that one keep only 7 laws to be considered a righteous gentile. Most Christians and Muslims easily qualify for this status, and thus according to Judaism at least, are perfectly capable of ascending to heaven without being Jewish. Judaism does not actively seek to convert persons to their side, unlike Christianity and Islam, and rather accepts those for who and what they are as long as they keep 7 basic laws.
These seven laws are known as the Seven Noahite Laws, and include basic things like the prohibition against muder and adultery. A simple internet search will display them all if anyone is interested.
EDIT: mark, since you're getting into the concept of updates, I've never understood how a religion can take the viewpoint that God releases only 1 update (Christianity) or 2 updates (Islam) but no more and no less. If God is already updating, why would He stop at any finite number? Religions like Baha'i and Sikhism claim to be further updates, and I don't see how a religion that was an update itself can disregard these two. The only models that make sense to me is either no updates (the Jewish postion) or as many updates as neccessary (I suppose the newest 'updated' religion). Any number in between seems to lack objectivity on a basic level.
EDIT: mark, you misunderstand me. It was about 1400 years between the ten commandments and the 'first update', Christianity. It's now been 1400 years since the 'second update' Islam; aren't we overdue for an update? Yet, I doubt the Muslim world would accept someone coming along and changing their religion, as evidenced by their failure to embrace these update-religions like Bahai'i and Sikhism. Isn't that hypocritical? What I was saying is that the only two systems that make sense are a system of no updates, or a system of infinite updates (for as you said, the times they are a-changing). It seems arbitrary to say that God only wanted 2 updates, no more no less and suddenly Islam is appropriate forever while Judaism is not. Either way this is only a side topic, and I also want to make it clear that I have nothing against you choosing any religion you like. |

Anyone can convert to Judaism- it's just not easy. Muslims and Christians are certainly allowed.
And no, we definitely do not believe that. |

You need to sue whoever taught you that rubbish
1) ANYONE can convert to Judaism (ok, strictly speaking the members of Amalek cannot, but since they haven't existed for over 2 millenia that isn't much of an issue nowadays :) ) It is a difficult process (we value quality over quantity) but it can be done, and frequently is.
2) There is no hell in Judaism. So, with no hell, nobody is going to be punished in it! And any non-Jew can be righteous, as long as they follow the Seven Noahide laws, and thus gain a place in the world to come. |

There is no hell in Judaism
But the way I understand hell is the place Muslim suicide bombers go to.
Judaism accepts converts, it's in the bible read Ruth, Christianity accepts converts too.
Muslim killers go to hell, So do idiots like you for spreading this Shi'ite kaka |

No silly, we don't even have hell!!
And I do know some people born to Christian parents who decided to convert to Judaism as adults.
That said, we NEVER try to convert people. It's not our style. |

"Muslims and Christians are not allowed to convert to Judaism"
Rubbish, your entire question is based on a fallacy.
Rabbi Asher Wade, Methodist pastor who converted to Judaism - http://www.asherwade.com/show.asp?PID=5
Plus Judaism does not believe that all gentiles go to hell - anyone who keeps the 7 Noahide laws will go to Heaven. |

All the righteous of the nations have a share in the world to come. In fact, it is easier for non-Jews than for Jews in that Jews have 613 commandments and non-Jews have only the 7 Noahide Laws.
Being "chosen" means that we are bound by those 613 commandments. You too can be chosen, but why would you want to?

Although Judaism is not a religion which seek out converts, we Jews accept converts with open arms (I have a few friends who did convert, and they will tell you the same).
As for heaven, we do believe in it, and we call it olam haba, which means "the world to come."
Judaism teaches that ALL moral people merit heaven, regardless of their religious beliefs, affiliations, or lack therof.
This means that Judaism is probably the ONLY religion with such beliefs. Anyone you encounter will tell you THEIR religion is the ONLY way to heaven. |

No you are not going to hell.
We are not being Jewish in promise of a better afterlife you know. We are who we are because G-d made us this way, and he wants us to be a certain way. |
|

|
Being non-Jewish simply has to do with not being the chosen people of Israel (IE that G-d gave us ownership of that land to keep us free from persecution)...it has nothing to do with Hell or one's fate in the afterlife. Judaism believes in all peaceful religions as equal in earning salvation, actually much more so than most sects of Christianity.
Also to note, Judaism does not believe in Hell, but rather a purgatory-like state for those who have not apologized for their sins. So in fact, we are less strict in our view of sin than Christianity's view of heaven and hell and believe help from G-d is equally open to all.
Also, the concept of the Day of Atonement IE Yom Kippur, the most important Jewish holiday...asks Jews to ask G-d for forgiveness in the same way Christians ask Christ for forgiveness. We have much in common with other religions and virtually nothing against them. |

Give the reading public a break here. This post is silly.
Non-Jews do not get in post-mortem trouble for not being Jews. Of course, the asker of this question knows this, but others may google "righteous gentile" and "Noachide Laws" in order to pursue hairsplitting (PS: if you follow the Ten Commandments, whether intentionally as such or not, you're already in the clear. In addition, just don't chop up an animal and eat it while its alive--should be easy enough to remember).
Anyone may convert to Judaism. However this is an issue separate from metaphysical considerations of what happens to a particular individual after death, which vary.
In any case, even if you bust some bad moves and find yourself there, the average Jewish hell is of much shorter duration and features more awareness of shame and remorse than it does poking pitchforks a la Dante.
Regarding options: getting a head start in this lifetime by determining and fostering good intentions through self-examination and compassion can provide expedient means towards not having to be so concerned about what happens after you die.
.
EDIT: After reading some of the answers here, I wanted to clarify something. Many individuals and denominations professing Christianity do NOT believe that one can only avoid hellfire through "belief in" or "following" J. In fact, interpretations of the phrases "belief in" and "following" can range all over the place, but that's another subject.
In addition, I have neither seen nor heard any indications from the overwhelming majority of professing Christians I know / have known in the US that they believe Jews should embrace any other faith than the one they do already. Many of them think proselytizing efforts in that direction are misguided and embarassing, for reasons related to etiquette as well as faith or dogma. Unfortunately, of course, these people are not going to be heard from as much as those who think otherwise!

First, Muslims and Christians are allowed to convert to Judaism. It takes time and Jews don't force people to convert to their religion.
Second, Jews don't believe in Hell.
Third, Muslims and Christians believe that those who don't follow their relgion go to hell. Jews however, believe anybody, a Jew or a non Jew go to heaven as long as they are good people.

1) Muslims and Christians CAN convert to Judaism if they really want to. Anyone can.
2) There isn't "hell" in Judaism and no one goes there. The concept of heaven and hell is foreign.
3) There is another option: check your data first. |

Jewish laws are old laws. Jews do not believe that God have updated the old laws when he sent Isa the son of Marry with new massage. Now both Jews and Christians do not believe the last update law from God which is Islam. Islam is the conclusion of God laws where God made it clear that the dispute between the Christians and the Jews are groundless and both should convert to Islam the true word of God. God is one and he had no son or a family and his laws apply to all man-kinds not only the Jews. God is free to update his laws as he likes and if you do not think God is free you are not free yourself.
Edit: MJ we all are free human beings and free to believe in whatever faith we chose individually.
But the old laws are very hard to live by and this why we have today Jews who called themselves reformed Jews. God did not change his old laws he updated them and some old laws God did not update at all. In the old laws God was talking to the Old Jewish people only that was updated in Christianity and Islam God made laws to all man-kinds. The question here is God free to update his laws to include all humanity in his laws?
MJ there are many religions in this world that have nothing to do with real religion of Abraham.
Edit: The real Jews are Orthodox Jews who contradict most of your Answers. Most of Answers are coming from reformed jews. |

For the first answerer, your answer is misleading, Jews say, that the hell fire will not touch them, because they are Jewish all others will go. So there is a hell but not for them.
Islam on the other hand believes in deeds and intentions, for example, if you commit a deed, without good intentions it will be void. |
