it used to. then i remembered what my grandmother told me: "Love is colour blind, love knows no boundaries. love does not respect age, race, religion or creed. love is love."

those words were a big help to me when i started dating the mrs. i'm jewish, she's christian.

but, at the end of the day, we love each other, that's what matters - not the type of building we worship G-d in.

No, it doesn't.
It's funny, because, I am from Brazil, a catholic country. Most of my friends are catholic, I went to catholic school. But I'm not catholic. It doesn't mean I couldn't be friends with them. Of course, sometimes, it makes it hard to agree on certain points, and sometimes, I feel belittled by them because of my faith. But looking from another angle, I get to know a lot of different things!
I'm not a religious person. Spiritual, but not religious. And guess what? I have met wonderful people that are religious, we talk about religion, faith, everything. Believe it or not, one of my best friends is mormon, and another one, is a minister and his wife!!!
Sometimes, I think it would be challeging marrying someone with different beliefs, but only if they were strict. I want my kids to know my faith, what it stands for and what it comes from. And I won't let any man stop me from doing that. However, if he has different beliefs, and wants to share with out child, as well as with my beliefs, I have no problem at all with that!

i think so yes.where i live i tell people about change , and people that were very zanu pf are changing

No,not from my side.I love to hear from other peoples beliefs or faiths. But I have lost some friends and even a girlfriend because off my beliefs.

romeoitaly
Actually, I can´t think of one instance where that is true in my case.

I tend to build friendships with people who have similar outlooks on life as me.
I am influenced as to how they treat others and themselves and how they view the world and their social environment.

I guess I am someone very interested in morales, of both societies and individuals.
It´s quite interesting comparing what´s considered right in some countries and taboo in others.

No. I like to think of people as individual. They may have different beliefs of faiths...but that is what makes us all different.

jack daniels
Does not influence friendships but will when choosing a life partner for obvious religious reasons.

zxcv
No - i befriend people for who they are , their character and the way they carry themselves out.

heavy D
Yes ,I cannot befriend a satanist !

Reb Da Rebel
Not in terms of "shared" belief/faith, but in terms of the kind of person my faith/belief has made me into. Being who I am and what I was raised under, I know to not only accept/ befriend people because they are of the same faith/belief as I am, but to do so because they are also people and can bring so much into my life with whatever difference they bring.

Lady G
Yes. My fiancé and I have been in the same church since primary shcool. I won't be able to sit next to an atheist and not feel uncomfortalbe, because the most inportant thing in life is not shared by us. My best friends are all Christian like me and I like it that way.

Not at all.

Of course! And I believe everyone should be given a chance and treated equally and like a friend until proven otherwise.

Then I run away screaming.

No, not in the least.

All have an equal chance with me.

Nay
No I it doesn't. I befriend people because of who they are and what I like about them. And inevitably where they come from influences who they are. So if they are nice people it is because their faith and belief has lead them there.

When I date someone its for the same reason and a bit more. Religion only makes up one facet of who we are and should not block people and make boundaries between us and other people.

No, I come from a mixed-bag of religions as it is so I,m easy with anyone, provided they don't try to ram their religion down my throat. We've agreed as a family not to eat pork though, which suites everyone and makes even religious get-togethers more comfortable for everyone.
Each to his own, don't you think?

Definitely.

No, not MY belief/faith. It is the belief/faith of the OTHER person that bugs me. There is no way I would be willing to wear a kopdoek just because my boyfriend´s religion expects women to do so. Hy kan gaan bars !! But, he can be my friend, I just would not marry into his religion, that´s all. The unfortunate problem with some religions, is that the families punish the spouses that do not obey their rules. Very sad. Like the saying goes, you can choose your friends, but you cannot choose your family.

G77Project
I think yes. Christians and Jews strike me as the most evil sick twisted psychos alive.

I would vote and help limit their influence as purveyors of the sick western european expansion that has been poison wherever it has contaminated.
