He is fine with it. I have a Persian friend, about 15 years younger, with whom I worked for 2 years. We had so much fun at work, and both being foreigners, we sort of used to think and feel the same things about our employers. Even though we have both left the firm and I have moved away, we still email each other, and when I go to Bremen, then we meet for lunch to have a natter.

Hey Styli,

If my partner can't except that I have friends of the opposite sex,then he must go out the door. I lost a friend recently because his girlfriend manipulated him into betraying my friendship for nothing.I was just his friend-nothing more nothging less. He showed me no loyalty and chose to end a friendship of more than 2 years. Aboviously my frienship meant absolutely nothing to him-despite him saying "you're my great friend. I never leave my friends". To be honest - it has shaken me to the core, and I am still struggling with anger issues.Yeah-I've moved on, but that friendship could means so little so someone..that just gets to me man..

Too late!... I already have several female friends, including my best friend. (And she can have male friends... I'm not the jealous type.) She has never indicated that it bothers her that I have female friends... she's a secure person in most things.

Since my husband stopped working, a woman friend he use to work with and her husband visits us sometimes, she and my husband went out for coffee and she game to see him when he was sick, i don't mind, but i do believe one should be care full and avoid trouble you did not ask for, it is too easy to get involved unintentionally, even with a colleague at work

I cant see why not. I must say most of my friends are the opposite sex. I have and always will believe that your friends makes 50% of your life and your other half the other 50%. Friends are always there for you, if I have relationship issues I prefer to go and speak to one of my female friends, they see the issue from the other side.

ofcourse, my friends come before any guy. Guys come and go my friends are for life. I'd seriously ditch the guy if he didn't give me the freedom i needed, including male friends.

If he isn't letting u be around 'male friends' he obviously doesn't trust you and whats a relationship without trust?

My partner has not got the mandate to forbid me to do anything. We would not be together if he even tried. His best friend is a woman. I understand and respect their friendship. They knew one another long before I met him. In fact I have been helping her move everyday this week. (What a nightmare, I hate moving people) I adore her and somehow she has become a good friend of mine as well. I had a male friend that has passed away. My husband supported and backed me when I flew over to Ireland to be by his side in the hospital, day and night (I slept on two chairs in the hospital) for as long as it took. And when I came back broken and tiredâ€¦my husband took me in his arms and supported me.

My bf and I had been friends for about 5 years before we got together. So he knew that most of my friends were guys anyway. He never questions my friendships even if he meets somebody new.

Hi there! First of all...... A true partner would never tell the other partner what they will or won't allow the other to do or say or have, for that matter. One may express their opinion on certain issues and it is up to the the other to take those expressions into consideration out of respect for the other and for the wellness of their partnership. However, in regards to your question, yes, he does accept that I do have friends of the opposite sex. We are both secure enough to trust one another and understand that the friends we choose have respect for our relationship. But If for some reason, one of those friendships makes one of us uncomfortable. Then it is, without a doubt, to let that friendship go. Basically because our partnership is more important to preserve. Friends come and go, but you only find one person to spend the rest of your life with who will always be there for you. And your partner is usually who turns out to be out of all your Friends, your best friend! Bella
