Egypt: Can somebody be a happy person but feel dissatisfied about certain aspects of his life?

we live on earth, not in Paradise .
on earth , humans can have their needs , but still feel they have a goal to fulfill .
this is healthy , bec if we have everything and are 100% happy , we wont move along life , we wont lift a finger !
there are moments when i feel good , but i have to rest then carry on with life .
this means after achieving success , we start thinking of the next step .
it is endless till the moment of death .
i dont want to sound pessimistic, im just realistic.
it is said that if we die the moment we are born, we take one foot of earth to be buried in .
when we grow up then die , we take 5 or 6 feet .
so all this strife in life is to get more earth to be buried in.
but this isnt all.
we live , have our joys and sadness , our ups and downs .
we commit sins and do good things .
there is afterlife which is meaningful .
up there , we are punished or rewarded according to our deeds .
this is our everlasting home , with God , in shaa allah .

In all my years, i ve never heard anyone say they are 100% satisfied, there is always sthg missing!!

I think the secret here is to feel content with what you have and not ponder on what's missing.... this way a person will be truly happy.

I was 100% happy reading your question and answering it, then I read Made Of Honor's answer, and now I'm 95% happy. That's how it is in real life, something/someone screws up everything everytime. But you have to accept what you've got, and try to live with it. Spending your time dwelling in depression won't make it any better.

YES, for sure there is something that can be made better or corrected.
It is better to look at it as a package deal, a few things are good and a few things are not. Wise people look at the average and feel happy when the scales show more satisfying things in their lives. There is always a chance to witness a change to the better in the things that are not satisfying.

No one can be a 100% happy, because as humans our wants are unlimited. Even if someone is extremely happy, there would be something missing, that feeling of having a goal or aim to reach or striving for accomplishment, instead of feeling good for having it all.

Sometimes though, when one specific aspect of your life is going well, the other aspects' importance seem to cease, so you may appear to be 100% happy. Just depends on what your priorities are, and your definition of happiness.

of course. there is no such thing as 100% happiness or sadness. as matter of fact there is no 100% of anything when we humans are in question. only something or someone prefect can have a 100% of anything. and we humans are so far from perfection. we could only be perfect imperfection.

well I always said that happiness is a decision,, and it is not true that you have to be satisfied 100% to be happy.. i saw millions ,,especially in Africa who hardly can eat,,and still are happy... No one can be 100% satisfied,,,, even if he/she does not want/need any thing,,, anyway,,,talking about my self,, I try not to be happy or sad by /from anything,,, you know what,,, that is happiness,,, not to be happy or sad because of any thing !!

Who is 100 per cent satisfied? However we humans should look at the positive in our lives and if it outweighs the negative - then wallah it is reason enough to live on and be happy and content forever. One should learn contentment is about your mind not material things.

well, every body have good times and bad times, happy times and sad times too, but the point is no body always happy or always sad so we cant give percents for how much he happy or how much he sad .

it is all about the person him self, if he can ignore the bad things beside looking to the full part from the cup or not and here where the happiness come from as i think or as i do :)

that's exactly how i feel about my life & believe me there is no 100% happiness no matter what ( unless u r drugged ) lol..

no wonder that there will always be things that u cant make right or feel not satisfied about..

Absolutely. I don't think that there is a single person on this earth today who is 100% happy about every aspect of their lives. I consider myself a cheery person, but I still have hardships, problems and frustrations.

no i don't think you have to be a 100% happy, i don't even think 100% happiness exists quite frankly, but for you to be able to maintain that balance of happiness although there are other things bothering you is something that is very good, its definately not a bad thing in my opinion. im happy, but there are things screwed over in my life but im an overall happy person.

you need to be satisfaction to be completely happy..

but normal happiness needs no 100% satisfaction, you will always feel that you are missing something..

Well, I don't know about everyone, but I know one thing my husband hates that effects every aspect of his life....from his ability to relax to his ability to do good hard work...it even effects how he treats our children.

I think it's ridiculous to let anything have such a great impact on all aspects of your life. I don't understand it...

If you want to get technical, your question refers to "all or none" or "black and white" thinking. Everything, in truth, is shades of grey. I think there can never be 100% satisfaction in life and I think the main thing needed to be happy is the desire to be happy.

Yes he can. No body is 100% happy in this world. You may find people 99% happy but there is some thing not happy in every person's life.
