every country speak English with a different accent, my favorite is the Italian accent, and I'm sure that native English speakers don't expect us to speak with their accent, even in the UK you find people from the north have different accent than the south, in USA you have Latino, Indian, and African American accents.
I only correct the speaker if his words gave a very different meaning than expected.
Edit
Sorry I read your edit late.
It's really a shame for a teacher not to be able to pronounce English letters, I consider myself lucky cause my english teacher had a british accent although it was in a public language school.
what i hate more is when Quran or arabic teacher mispronounce the arabic letters (ذ،ز) and (ث،س). |

Well i can speak both well, since i was taught British English by American teachers.... lol and actually i do mix and blend them together and they sound nice.
Well as for the "Egybtian English", i do correct it, if they are my friends or acquaintances, i would hate it if someone made fun of their language,,,,,,, if i don't know them, well it is a bit embarrassing and i would come out all too snobby and miss know it all, so i keep quite but try to repeat what they said in question form (gives them a hint and the smart ones catch it real quick), other than that i keep my mouth shut!! |

i think it's ok to pronounce a foreign language with an accent, every country has its accent when speaking a foreign language, look at the Italians, Russians, French, Indians, Chinese when speaking English, why we Egyptians should adopt the exact accent of the Americans or English? Besides, relatively to the education system of ours, i think teachers are doing what they taught to do.
What i know is that when they (foreigners) speak Arabic with accent, it's ok with us because we know they are foreigners.. |

When it comes to teachers, it is definitely unacceptable, as to the general public, well they can't really be criticized bec they're doing their best. However, it shouldn't be publicized like in the Melody add of "ol engelish ol tha time"!!!!!!!! Each country speaks English while integrating its own dialect. French English is the cutest, a bit snobbish though. |

Every one on this planet has an accent when he speaks languages other than his mother tongue. French, German, Scots, Irish, Australians, Indians, Pakis, you name it.
You shouldn't feel offended when some one speaks with accent because in the UK and the US people has different English not just agzants!!. |

Hmm...I speak with a American accent, it changes a lot depending on who I am talking to. I can speak with the British too as I did high school in India. But college in the US and working here has changed a lot of my pronunciations and word usage significantly.
Though most of the time people say I speak clear and with a slight Indian accent. Don't know!? |

Most Call My Accent As British But It's The Way How It's Supposed To Be Pronounced America Broke Off From Britain So Technically English Is British
Now It Doesn't Bother That Some Egyptian Pronounce It Wrong After All Arabic Is Our Main Language
Sure Speaking English Would Help Foreigners Understand You Better
Put I Zpeak London Vary Bezt |

It is a hard task trying to track whose fault is it to find people talking like this, myself can't blame those people that they didn't recieve the right direction when they needed it.
I remember talking to one of my best friends who studies English in Cairo university, i asked her how do she feels when she finds people making so much mistakes with grammer and pronounciation, she told me that she seeks what is behind the words, that was so inspirational and understanding, so i started to do the same she does. |

I speak American English though sometimes I ezbeak like za Ejibshan beebol.
Sometimes I pronounce things Se3eedi for some reason, like once I was saying ma3rafsh, and I said it all se3eedi Maaa3raffish. Or sometimes when Im saying dilwa2tee, i'll say dilwa2t. (at least I don't say dilwaqeet, that makes me laugh when they say it like that)

No i dont really have and accent but sometimes my mom corrects me and tells me my English is bad because i say fishes instead of fish.. and i say worse instead of worse... but i think because my dad has and Egyptian accent in his English is probably why...
but my sisters husband always wants me to correct him in his English because he doesn't like it when he Miss says a word but i never notice it and dont hate it when they have a accent because I'm used to my dad speaking like that so that's probably why it doest bother me |

Why should it?
English is NOT their first language...and I admire them for learning how to speak it at all.
Are you as superficial as you sound????
I speak English as it is written, properly, with NO accent. |
