We always should smile.. because there are people who need that smile. Through one little smile we can brighten the day of someone. So keep smiling all :)

I read a poem about this topic once.. it was great!
I will try to put it.

SMILES COSTS NOTHING

A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.

It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.

A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.

No one is so rich, or so mighty, that they can get a long without a smile.

And no one is so poor that they cannot be made richer by a smile.

A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business and is the

counter sign of friendship.

A smile brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the

sad and is nature's best cure for trouble

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen
for it is of no value to anyone until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give a smile so give them one of yours as no one needs a smile so much as he who has no more of his own to give.

it costs nothing but does worth everything.. uh i couldn't forget how many days my whole day has turned to be a happy day because of a smile form the heart from mother, grandmother, father, neighbor, salesman, friend at work, woman walking in the street (just like your case), ....i also have the strength from these smiles

i guess a smile means a lot hope, love, care, peace, .. as if the person's soul comes through his/her eyes and says hi i do care have a wonderful day

i do appreciate asking the question and i guess we all do.. thanks and keep in mind that it is not only the woman who appreciates your smile, maybe other person was walking and saw it will be happy too, and above all god appreciates it because you made one of his creatures happy

when i have to criticize someone, i do it smiling, it makes him feels that i'm giving him friendly advices instead.

Yes I agree it sure does I do smile at my clients well I don't just do it to get good customer feed-backs I used to do it since a long time ago and now its like a habit and really helps me in my job.
