no but i d like someday.i have heard that its really nice there
but the people there are rude and arrogant,
it happened that i have worked to an airport and met lots of Isrealis which all have the same attitude

to "makedonian phalanx"
your country(known as fyrom) is not one of the most ancient.the inhabitands, who are slavic and albanian, not either
the ancient Makedonia has nothing to do from the place you that fyrom is located now, maybe is not even the 1% pf the ancient
also ancient makedonia was not a country.....

Bosco
Yes. The people are incredibly rude and overbearing. The only nice people I met were Palestinians, who are very hospitable and place a lot of emphasis on courtesy. The Gaza was very impoverished but the people were great. Israel isn't really a country by the way; it has no "local" culture, just kind of a mishmash of American and Eurotrash pop culture, plus they are mostly Russian atheists, not Jews.

If you mean the western portion of Palestine, yes; it was like a cross between Burbank and a third world police state. The Palestinian territories were depressing,to see a proud people relentlessly humiliated and abused like that, but their spirit was inspiring. They are very kind people. The jews were obviously American and European, mostly recent immigrants from Russia. Most were looking forward to moving the U.S. after collecting a nice piece of money for moving to "israel" ;I gather they have to bribe people to move there - they get $50,000 or something for a five-year commitment. Plenty of religious loonies, mostly ultra-orthodox. They are heavily armed and dangerous, particularly if you have a dark complexion.

No but I am going there as soon as I get the Canadian citizenship. The Israelis wont let me go as long as I am Palestinian.

Nearly. I went to Jordan and saw Israel on the far side of the Dead Sea. But they won't let you in once you have a passport stamp from an Arab country, apparently.

Yes. I detested it. It is vastly overbuilt and over-structured and the treatment of ordinary Palestinians is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the Old South circa 1920. I was glad to get out. I went to Syria - supposedly a police state - and it was like leaving a giant Orwellian experiment in Total Control for a bit of fresh air. I love Syria.

I've been to Israel frequently, and I've always felt safe there, though I've never gone to Gaza or the West bank. It's a beautiful country, and if you're interested, I encourage you to go.

One way to keep abreast of what's going on there is to read an Israeli paper like the Jerusalem post (jpost.com) which is in English. Personally, I recommend against agenda driven sites like Arutz sheva.

The poster who said Israelis won't let you enter with an Arab passport or visa was wrong. Many Arab countries won't let you in with an Israeli passport or visa (in the past, none would let you in) but not the reverse.

Not yet but I hope to visit it one day.
It looks beautiful. The Israelis have done a good job in producing a productive and vibrant society.

I would go to Israel If I were a Christian, Muslim or Jew. Otherwise I would go to Hawaii. The Polynesian cultural center is cool.

WillyFogg
Yes, beautiful country. I would be careful though and stay away from known troubled areas.

I've been twice and plan to retire there with my wife. From Eliat all the way to Tel Aviv I found the people to be warm and friendly! The sights are incredible and you can enjoy both an "old world" experience or a modern one! In my opinion the poster who said he had been to Israel and then proceeded to bash the Jews is a liar who has never set foot in Israel.. There is no doubt in my mind this poster will sink to any level to promote his anti-Jewish agenda. Sorry for the detour but I assure you If you went to Israel you would echo my sentiments. I recommend the Moon Valley Hotel in Eliat!

Israel is beautiful,l worked in a Kibbutz outside Bethlehem in my student days.Things obviously are very different now.

my dad has been he says its really good but then yet again he did hear a lot of bombs going off he was only 15 miles from the gaza strip

I haven't been there. There are times when I thought about it, then some suicide bomber hits a cafe, or a market, and I forget about it. I wouldn't recommend going anyplace where there is unrest.
