My dear friend , Speaking as an expat I have contributed to South Africa when I lived there. I still can walk in my home town after all these years and I am welcomed as a son of the town.In the last twenty years I have contributed to South Africa from the outside. There are very proud expats that work for the betterment of South Africa from outside. We are the unofficial ambassadors that do more for South Africa than some of the embassies and the South African that are not cowards but live in South Africa.
That is the story about we.
Now the story about those who did not contribute to South Africa when they lived there and I am sure they are using their adopted country in the same way they used South Africa for their own selfish reasons. These people are entitled to trash South Africa because we do not live in their beloved apartheid country any more. They may have left Africa but Africa will not leave them that is why they join this program to bash South Africa.Deep down inside them the memories of South Africa can't be erased. To all the South African please be kind to those expats who trash South Africa. If we forget our UBUNTU humanity in the Zulu language then we will become like them. |

Ayiza, if you read properly you will see that (almost) all of us love our country.
There's a HUGE difference between thrashing our country and trashing the ANC government who is destroying it for everybody. If anybody is selling the country out, it's the ANC who clearly lost the plot.
Where I live now will never be my home. I am African, just like you.
Accept that white South Africans are also South Africans and stop hammering this old racist drum that stinks of ethnic cleansing.
Get on with it, man. You're really getting boring and are acting immature with this nonsense.
If you want, you and I can meet man-to-man when I'm in SA again and we'll see who's the coward...
I should be in Cape Town somewhere in July. |

What do you mean by expats? I am a black South African who grew up in Soweto but now residing in the US. I left because i was offered a lucrative position here(but also beacuse i wanted to have a different experience). I have been here for three years now and i think i am making more progress careerwise than i would have in SA. Am i an expat? I still hold my allegiance to my country.
There are obviously some people who are bitter that things have changed in SA and will say anything to deride the country. But i think overall people are voicing genuine concerns that should not just be rubbished. The government has to be held accountable. After all we voted for them(at least i did).Sometimes the truth is difficult to swallow but we have to try and be objective and not be swayed by emotions. A lot of things have deteriorated in SA(and a lot of things have improved, but thats not enough). A lot of it has to do with incompetent people in high positions. That is a fact. we should not be in denial about issues here, like our President is. Dont be defensive when there is nothing to defend.
South africa has a lot of potential. We just need to do things and do them right. People with an inferior complex are upset by little things and they tend to be defensive also.I am black and i have no complexes about that. But i will not blindly follow and be aggreable to things that i know are wrong.A corrupt person is corrupt and poor leadership is poor leadeship,period...
So i think you should not generalise like that and dont try to shut people up, otherwise they will explode.Just like what happened with apartheid.Anyway I normally avoid emotive debates but i just thought i should jump in and share my views with you and others on this forum.
Peace my brother! |

You have it all wrong, Buddy. All the expats are doing is highlighting how the ANC and the thugs who roam your streets are trashing the Country. The beauty that Van Riebeek saw 400 years ago is still there but it is now unsafe to live in or visit. It wasnt like that before Communism and the Country was sold out by the CIA and MI6 who gave De Klerk no choice. Maybe you should get your mind beyond the ANC propaganda and do some real research on events leading up to Communism. There were no ANC heroes ( they were too scared)- just Communist thugs waiting to plunder the Country that was built on White innovativeness and know how.
Soon your children will be on my TV screen with flies crawling out their noses and Bono or Geldoff making an impassioned plea for donations. |

Just wondering......

If I see something that looks like a dog turd lying on the ground and it smells like a turd then that´s enough for me to realise that it´s a turd.
You on the other hand will pick it up, squash it in your hand, lift it till it touches your nose, smell it, bite into it, chew on it and then exclaim - Oh cr@p! It´s sh!t.
This is the difference between you and most of the people on this forum - we recognise sh!t when we see it, in all it´s forms! |

Those people who opted to leave your country have their reasons which should be respected. I am not South african and I've been to your country couple of weeks back-I found your country nice. |
