I love to go to the Spice Souk. This is the market for fresh Arabic spices. Once here, fragrances and aroma of spices and seasonings will surround you. On sale are the cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, incense, dried fruit and nuts imported from all over the Middle East. The spices are sold straight out of large open sacks.

At the Perfume Souk, thousands of different sweet aromas and fragrance are inviting. You will smell thousands of aromas. Arabic perfumes are very strong and spicy unlike light floral western perfumes. At the Perfume Souk, incense in the form of compressed powder, crystal, rock or wood can also be smelled.

When I am coming home from the Souk I am so inspired by the nice smells, that I burn some incense in the house. Mostly sandlewood.

Take care and enjoy Bremen. Been there! Drive up to Hamburg and enjoy the fish market very early in the morning.

The smell of rain in SA.Just doesn't smell the same in England,France or USA.
+ the smell of the ocean and sound of seagulls.

I love the smell of "Sausage Sizzles" outside of the garden centres in Australia, it brings back lovely memories of Boerewors rolls at the shopping centres and at any sporting activity back in South Africa. Do you remember?.

The smells in the "market" streets where you still get small fishmongers, cheesemongers, butchers, spice merchants etc

And the best one is the smell of a boulangerie! Specially in the morning when they bring out the croissants that people buy for breakfast.

I've moved to Portugal and I love the scent of the orange blossom in the orchards, the clean air in the mountains and the smell of fresh fish on the barbecue.

I can only echo what "h" have said. Living in a middle eastern country is quite different from an European or African country.The smells just enhances the feeling of mysteriousness.
