For male drivers - doesn't it bother you if a woman driver overtakes you? |
In the Lowveld, there are alot of 4x4's and I have noticed in the last few weeks on my way to work, I overtake a male driver in a hilux / 4 x 4 (whatever) / twin cab and then a few minutes later the same driver comes speeding past. Do you think it bothers some men to have a woman driver overtake, especially if it is in a "non 4 x 4" car?
Additional Details
The area I live in is still a very Afrikaans culture, where men's ego's are easily bruised by women that can do things on their own without men. Unless you are South African, I don't think you would really understand. Maybe some ladies who have dated "traditional" Afrikaans men (pls note, I am generalising here so don't want anyone to be offended) can help me out here. |

Nah, doesnt bother me in the least. In fact im the exact opposite of zxcv, i overtake EVERYONE! hehehe

Haha I have noticed this too, although where I come from it seems to be BMW drivers. They HATE it when anyone overtakes them it seems.
No offense to any considerate BMW drivers out there, assuming you do in fact exist hahaha |

I regard a girl speeding past me in a cool car as rather sexy, but I could not be bothered to chase her and pass.
One thing I would like to mention, If those 4x4 drivers pass you again, have a look if they SMILE. If so, remember, it's not because they are happy with their lives, It's Hunger Pains due the petrol they have to pay on those gas guzzlers... |

Not really, I slow down on purpose - so that they can past and then I can check out the talent - LOL.
If it's worth another look - then I would consider speeding up to overtake.
Maybe that was me on my visit to Nelspruit last week redhead - ha ha. |

I know what you mean though about some weirdos that after you have overtaken them, they then shoot past you and slow down again, whats all that about?? |

Probably the need to feel Superior among others on the road, and yes I guess against women more that other men; but it can also escalate with other men too. I don't feel the need to speed past someone after they pass me on the road, man or woman. |

No, doesn't bother me, only if she cuts me off or I have to swerve to avoid her colliding with me which is usually the case with female road users.
The problem with lady road users is, that more often than not, they do not realise that they drive poorly or recklessly, similiar to an African who doesn't realise he is as thick as pigsh*t. |
