Guys ... how do you handle a woman's tears ??

There were many times when i coudnt stop myself from 'helping' a friend in crying,..

i cried with my friend when she was crying asfter breaking off her 8 years relationship..4 years dating and 4 years engagement..
I cried with my relative, cz she was in pain in hospital
I cried with my cousin cz she was having a crisis in her family..

and there were other times when i hugged them.. :s i still dont know what to do in those situations when i have to be there for a friend... do i hug her? listen? give solutions?
i read in a book that when girls cry... they aren't seeking a solution yet they just want someone to listen to them... that's not true all the time.. there are times when the girl want a solution.. and i dont know what to do, or say when i'm in a situation like that.. do i give solutions? do i hug her? do i try to cheer her up? do i help in crying? do i just sit there without talking... emotional support!

If she is crying she wants u to ask her why. Do so, but when she is done, dont under any circumstances try to tell her how to fix it or try to help her fix it!!! U just listen and give her a hug end of story!!!

well i know this said for guys
but i'm a girl
and girls imput is good sometimes
when a guy makes me cry
or if i'm crying and a guy comes along
i like from them to ask me whats wrong
[and if i say no ask a few more times]
but if i clearly don't want to talk about it
tell me everything is going to be okay
give me a nice big hug
and a kiss on the forehead
also rubbing the back helps

Depends....if they are for something like a loss of a loved one or an pet then you show understanding and compassion...if it's crying while in an arguement and she resorts to tears to either to try and prove a point or an attemtp to make you given, then I stand my ground and tell her, when she is done and want to continue the discussin without the dramtics then we'll talk, other than that take it down the hall to someone that gives a sh*t!
