maybe back at school, I did it a few times. but not as a grown up.

well, I am ashamed to say that, but yes i have...you see my oldest son has autism so it's very hard for him to make friends on his own...therefore I get him the latest toys and cool stuff so he would attract the other kids to play with him...and I usually offer those kids ice cream or buy them chips etc...does that count?

sadly enough i think i have inadvertently done this
i like to give presents, but i probably get carried away and subconsciously do it so that people will like me sometimes

I think theres a difference between buying gifts for a friend who is already your best friend and buying gifts for someone who you want to be friends with, if its the latter then i think the persons going to think your a bit odd!!

I learned a valuable lesson many years ago in the schoolyard when a kid in my class tried to buy friendship by stealing from his mother's purse & buying sweets for his " friends" !

It ended in disaster & his " friends " disappeared when the well ran dry !

Nope. I'm broke and I hate buying people **** unless it's there birthday or holiday and even then I still hate buying presents. I would rather spend it on me.

No, sorry i don't follow this, me, its just me weather this person liked me or not, its just me i wont change myself to impress somebody, but i do gift people i love because words are not enough to express your feelings and yes it keeps friendships lasts.

And lunch invitations are amazing especially when i cook .

-good people I do them favors and tell them the truth when they need to hear it and be their for them
- mean people : I flirt with girls and suck up to guys if I need something from them [ like my boss ] if I can Ignore them I do that
