EVER THOUGHT ? i Always miss England , esp London .
i love London in Summer , the museums , the theatre , the cinemas , the palaces , the shops , the streets , and Especially the People .
the people are straightforward , cold but sincere .
i can read them and get along with them.
the security is great, too.
the TV isnt that good , but i can go to live shows.
in London , i dont rest , i visit places and see shows all the time till it is time to sleep.

Frequently.

I often wake up in cold sweats, desperate to finally flee to a country that is worth living in, free from annoyances and terror! A country where freedom has MEANING, where the food is only outmatched by the friendly neighbourhood, and snowboarding is an outlandish hobby known only to a select few!

Then I remember I do live in England, and it sucks.

:(

me
no i dont like england..agreed with the person who said that girls are strange there.

Yes, yes, we moved to England when our children were very small, one just a year and a half and the other a baby of six months. It was wonderful and terrible! The babies cried the whole plane ride over -- 11 hours straight! I marched up and down the aisle of the plane with one baby in my arms, trying to soothe him and my husband walked up and down the other aisle of the plane with the bigger baby in his arms, trying to soothe her, the whole 11 hours! Ooh, were we ever tired when we got to England! Then we had to go through customs, with two sobbing babies, who'd soggied every single diaper in both diaper bags, gone through all 24 bottles of formula that I'd packed, and I was sitting leaning against the wall, holding a baby on each knee, thinking God might as well strike us all dead right then and there. And a lovely British lady came over and took one of the babies from me, bounced him around a little and got him to stop crying (will wonders never cease?) and told me, "You'll have to go to the chemist to get some nappies!" And I had no earthly idea what she was talking about! But I knew I was in heaven because she'd helped me, which nobody in Texas did, with two babies.

So it was wonderful being there. We saw stone circles (although we never made it to Stonehenge), and Big Ben (although it was covered with scaffolding for cleaning the entire 2 years!) and Parliament and the Thames River and the Tower of London and Ely Cathedral and lots of other castles and thatched roof houses and narrow roads, all of them winding, which made the babies throw up every time we drove anywhere! And I saw it all turned around backward because the babies were in the back seat and I was trying to keep them happy, giving them toys and bottles of formula and cookies and so on. So I was carsick, too! Oy vey! But I loved it! I really did!

One of these days, now that the kiddoes are all grown up, we shall have to go back, so I can see what it all looks like, seeing it straight on, instead of backwards. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Of course, I shall have to be prepared and bring my raincoat and my "wellies" (those rubberized overshoes so you don't get your regular shoes all soggy when you step in mud puddles).

Yes! I've only been there 3 times, and feel as though I've only begun to scratch the surface. Unfortunately, the exchange rate between dollars and pounds is such that I currently have no plans to visit again soon.
