In Ramadan when we got out me and 7oda kept talking about how weird is it to for us to meet

he told me we are all friend and everything but i didn't imagine that we will meet, eat and talk together in person!

it was really amazing!

look, its both! i have made good friends here but when we met i felt big different,

like: i always knew reikominder as the picture,the name and the personality/character but when i saw him and talked together it was really weird that that i met the "picture,the name and the personality/character" that i knew in person

and had the same feeling about the other guys "Ather,7oda,Egypty and Slave of allah"

Yes I do, and i care abt them, and happy when they are happy, and sad for anything bad happened to them.

And I'm talking about people i may never meet, bcoz they are not words, there are persons behind this words, there are flesh, blood, feelings and soul behind the words.

Most of my friends think i'm stupid abt that, or i'm wasting my time with people who never be real friends for me, but you know what, online friends you are talking about, helped me and support me when needed more than my friends since school or from college.

I feel that as I have participated in this section in the past year, that I've come in contact with some amazing people here who I really care about, as though I have already met them. Why do you think I'm still around? :-D Even though, I, myself, am not Egyptian (although I hope in the near future to be living in Egypt), I have felt welcomed (except for one member who really hurt my feelings a few months ago, but he's the one with a problem).

Ok here is my honest opinion..

I have made friends, but not good.. no WONDERFUL & GREAT friends!!! :) All of them I met here (Y!A). I don't want to mention names because I am afraid to forget any name, but I think the persons know themselves very well :)))
I really love them a lot and truly! I care a lot about them. I can tell them things, which I wouldn't tell someone else or some "normal" friends in "real life". I can trust them blindly! They are MY friends! :)
I am soooo happy that I found my way here to yahoo answers.. :D wallahi el 3azeem I really love you all here.. :) I really wish that I can meet you all one day! :)

I did state my view about in many of my answers before but I like to say write it again, we are n't a digital friends, internet is a society as well as any other society like clubs etc..., I have many friends who I truly care about over the net...I worry if I don't see them after a couple of days. I ask about their kids and their families and their animals...it's tells them I care what is going on in their lives. I don't have to meet people in a physical sense in order to care about them. i class them as my friends,i have met some wonderful people on the net.

yes i have and i am so grateful to dear God for them!
i never considered anyone of you from YA as merely words and not people, because i know that behind those avatars are real people with real feelings.
with some of you from section i am in contact outside YA, although i never met anyone of you face to face which i wish so much to be able one day.
you are all my friends here, although with some of you i share deeper friendship. and my friends' worries, problems, happy and sad times are my also and i will do all i can for them.

and yes, as Reiko says those from the ''real'' world tend to look down to online friendship. but some of my online friends helped me more and done for me more than the friends in real life. it does not matter if we never met face to face, what matters is that we just connected on a higher level

actually i am not her for long time though i joined since 2006 , that's why i don't have close friends from her yet
but through INTERNET i have only one close friend whom we write each other always ,and honestly i saw her once , i have some how feelings that some times online friends are better than some face to face friends , as when we talk online we are not willing to take any advantage of each other , which is not the case when we are face to face ,

for me, i made very good friends, sometimes i feel like i met them before when?, where? u don't know, u just feel it.
sometimes i feel that they're closest to me than my real touchable friends,
they listen to me when every one stops to listen,
they give me a space when every one's chest is narrow ,
they accept me when every one denies me,
and the most important, they treat me like human of flesh, blood and feelings.

They have feelings but I dont like ones who think we are the best of mates because we are not. Some of them are ok to chat to every now and then but as soon as they make plans for us to meet and it is not mutual, I run for cover :)
I have met very few people I have known online; one of them is actually an American friend who I have finally met this summer after knowing each other for 9 years and she was just as lovely as I expected her to be. So you never know!!

I've been self employed, working online for over a decade. Through working with many strangers, I have made many new friends that I have never met, and will likely never meet. Some I have spoken to on the phone, and many I have not.

I do consider these people to be friends, and have helped many of them out when they have needed it, just as I would a friend in real life. They have also been there for me when I have needed something.

I actually loaned somebody $15k that I have never met, and never spoken to. It was done without a contract, just an eMail with a rough idea as to when I would be repaid. No problems, we had become friends and I knew that he was good for it.

I have also met many people in real life that I have met online, some of them are still friends today. Actually, I recently moved to Costa Rica, and already had a network of friends before I arrived.

My dearest friends now are online friends. We meet every now and then.
To the extent that one of my closest online friends has helped me to find a job in well known multinational company :)
