The pyramid referred to is not significantly large and in the several thousand years since the Memphis royal necropolis was abandoned, the wind covered most of the structures in several metres of sand and dirt.
There are many other significant buildings and tombs known to exist in this particular location, including the tomb and funerary temple of Imhotep.

Much of Egypt is sandy desert. Sand is shifted by the wind and, over time, sand can accumulate and completely cover things, such as pyramids. News pyramids may be discovered either when that sand shifts again or people just happen to come across evidence that there may be something underneath the sand in particular areas. |

depends on the size
a pyramid is a solid object with a flat square base and four flat triangular sides which slope toward each other and meet to form a point at the top
REMEMBER !!! |

Ancient pyramids in Egypt have gotten covered up by sand because of the high winds causing sand storms. There are probably still more out there because many pyramids were built back then. |

Because it had probably been covered by sand and dirt for thousands of years. There are still discoveries being made all of the time. As sea exploration gets further advanced I am sure they will find much more about our ancient past. |
