First off they're not. Secondly, who cares, Palestine should worry about themselves. What would they do with that little sliver of land anyway, shoot their little rockets into the water? Suicide bomb the fish?

Thank you for the thumbs down, I'm glad to know some of you have so much more insight on this subject than I do. Seems to me there are either a lot of neo nazi's on YA or a lot of you support terrorism. Both sides have made mistakes but Palestine has committed unprovoked attacks multiple times.

The Israeli is not occupying any ones land, google it and you will see, that Israel belongs to the Jewish people and it has been like this for over 3000 years, Israel will always belong to the Jewish people, its about time you get used to the idea, because Israel is here to stay.
The term "Palestine" is believed to be derived from the Philistines, an Aegean people who, in the 12th Century B.C.E., settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what are now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century C.E., after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word "Filastin" is derived from this Latin name.3

The Hebrews entered the Land of Israel about 1300 B.C.E., living under a tribal confederation until being united under the first monarch, King Saul. The second king, David, established Jerusalem as the capital around 1000 B.C.E. David's son, Solomon built the Temple soon thereafter and consolidated the military, administrative and religious functions of the kingdom. The nation was divided under Solomon's son, with the northern kingdom (Israel) lasting until 722 B.C.E., when the Assyrians destroyed it, and the southern kingdom (Judah) surviving until the Babylonian conquest in 586 B.C.E. The Jewish people enjoyed brief periods of sovereignty afterward before most Jews were finally driven from their homeland in 135 C.E.

Jewish independence in the Land of Israel lasted for more than 400 years. This is much longer than Americans have enjoyed independence in what has become known as the United States. In fact, if not for foreign conquerors, Israel would be 3,000 years old today.

Palestine was never an exclusively Arab country, although Arabic gradually became the language of most the population after the Muslim invasions of the seventh century. No independent Arab or Palestinian state ever existed in Palestine. When the distinguished Arab-American historian, Princeton University Prof. Philip Hitti, testified against partition before the Anglo-American Committee in 1946, he said: "There is no such thing as 'Palestine' in history, absolutely not."

Prior to partition, Palestinian Arabs did not view themselves as having a separate identity. When the First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to choose Palestinian representatives for the Paris Peace Conference, the following resolution was adopted:

We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds.

In 1937, a local Arab leader, Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, told the Peel Commission, which ultimately suggested the partition of Palestine: "There is no such country [as Palestine]! 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria."

The representative of the Arab Higher Committee to the United Nations submitted a statement to the General Assembly in May 1947 that said "Palestine was part of the Province of Syria" and that, "politically, the Arabs of Palestine were not independent in the sense of forming a separate political entity." A few years later, Ahmed Shuqeiri, later the chairman of the PLO, told the Security Council: "It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but southern Syria."

Palestinian Arab nationalism is largely a post-World War I phenomenon that did not become a significant political movement until after the 1967 Six-Day War and Israel's capture of the West Bank.

Why didn't you tell that to Ariel Sharon when he was Prime Minister? See, Sharon thought that if Israel pulled its troops and 9,000 settlers out of Gaza and left it to the Palis, there would be peace. And what have the Palis done?

Although the land controlled by Israel has been paid for in the form of money or by the blood of their soldiers, perception is reality. Once the Palestinians try to adhere to any of the stipulations stated in the Oslo accords, they will find that Israel will give up more land for peace. Until that day comes, every dunam that Israel holds onto is a victory for the State of Israel and any relinquishment of that land without some reciprocity (such as deterring terrorism), from the Palestinians will be looked upon as a defeat.

Boy you do like stirring up the brown stuff don't you?

History lesson number one - God gave the Israelites some land which they named Israel.

Later on this land was stolen from them and they ended up homeless once again and set up communities all over the world... Sadly this did not work as their reluctance to mix, different religion, clothing and language as well as their careers as loan sharks and pawnbrokers made them despised by the natives of the countries and led to what became known as pograms; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogrom.

So the majority of the Israelites were assisted in reclaiming their Home Land, following the biggest pogram of them all - otherwise known as the Holocaust of World War II - much to the distress of the Palistinians who had spread onto their land - hence the current long standing situation.

Do us all a favour and read these pages:-

You have that backwards; it's the Arabs that are falsely claiming ownership to and occupying Israel illegally. The Arabs just need to stop coveting the Jewish Holy Land. Israel will never give it up again so all these senseless wars and proxy wars are a useless waste of lives.

That is silly. The opposite is true. Peace can come when West Jordan, Southern Syria, Gaza and The Sinai are returned to The Jewish People. Until those Jewish Lands (occupied by Arabs) are returned to the true owners, how can anyone expect peace?

I like how no blame goes to the palestinian arabs. With this type of mindset, it only forces yourself to believe israelis are the enemies.

Israel has always belonged to the Jewish people. Jews have had a continued presence in Israel for 3,000 years and have never relinquished their claim. Arabs rejected the United Nations resolution of November 29, 1947 calling for the establishment of two states in Palestine, with an all out war to eliminate Jews enacted by the Arab world. After the 1967 War -- another war of Arab aggression -- Israel recovered a small remnant (13% in whole) of what was promised to them by the UN -- eventually handing back the Sinai Desert for peace with Egypt in 1977.
Between 1948-1967, Jordan and Egypt, who governed the West Bank and Gaza, respectively, never offered to surrender those lands to form an independent Palestinian state. No Palestinian organization ever sought an independent state. No Arab country had even suggested its existence. An Arab Palestine has never been the name of any nation or state. 'Palestine' was a geographical term used only to identify administrative boundaries within larger empires, nothing more.
The purpose of a separate Palestinian State was defined faultlessly by the late Zoher Moessein, head of PLO bureau of military operation:
"There is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians and Lebanese; we are all members of the same nation. Solely for political reasons are we careful to stress our identity as Palestinians. Since a separate State of Palestine would be an extra weapon in Arab hands to fight Zionism with. Yes, we do call for the creation of a Palestinian state for tactical reasons. Such a state would be a new means of continuing the battle against Zionism, and for Arab unity."
An offshoot of the occupation myth is the 'refugee' fabrication. It states that a significant portion of the Arab population was driven out of Israel by force during the 1948 War. It makes for good copy, but it's false. Egyptian activist, Edward Said, the most famous of these "refugees," for example, has been exposed as a fraud, as has this revisionist history.
Mark Twain, a man, one would think, as devoid of 'imperialistic Zionist' intentions, wrote in 1867 that Palestine was "a desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds." Yet, Arabs have claimed that over a million refugees were forced from their homes during the 1948 War of Independence -- this number includes Arabs whose relatives entered Israel from 1946 onward. The number of Arab refugees is probably closer to 400,000, most of whom took it upon themselves to flee despite Jewish assurances that they would not be harmed. The contention that Arabs were removed by gunpoint is totally incorrect. Research by the Arab-sponsored Institute for Palestinians Studies in Beirut found that "the majority of the Arab refugees in 1948 were not expelled and 68 percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier."
In her meticulously researched book, From Time Immemorial, Joan Peters proves that a roughly equivalent number of Jewish refugees were expelled from Arab nations during the same period -- 120,000 from Iraq alone. It is estimated that one million immigrants were integrated into Israel's society from 1948-1950.
None of them, on the other hand, were confined for life to refugee camps.

Because Israelis don't occupy someone else's land and this "Palestinian" terror crisis doesn't stop one from carrying on with life. The Jewish nation has "double tasked" and also puts concentration in other places to find this peace and has made great accomplishments with the Jewish state. Look what Israel has done in 60 years of the modern Jewish state and the whole time while actually winning her wars:

"The Jews who became Israelis have built a thriving economy, based to a large extent on their human capital. They revived as a spoken language an ancient language, Hebrew. They have integrated new arrivals from around the world and resolutely maintained a vibrant, free, and democratic society; they have created the political and economic infrastructure of a nation; and they have survived in war after existential war as Psalm 129 foretold. "Sorely have they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me." They have cultivated desolate lands with one of the world's most innovative agricultural economies; they have established legal systems that protect civil liberties against the backdrop of the most lethal security threats. They have made a home for the world's largest Jewish population, passing America by about 1 percentage point. They have fulfilled Israel's destiny to give Jewish communities threatened from without, or assimilated to the point of extinction from within, a place to survive and thrive. This is the dream that has come true. Even though Israel seeks no allegiance and loyalty from anyone who is not an Israeli citizen, the realization of the dream and the remarkable historical event that Israel represents with its rebirth have evoked the spirit of kinship and emotional and association with those who share the Judeo-Christian community throughout the world.

They have failed in one respect. They have been unable to make peace with terrorists, but it is because the terrorists reject all compromise. But Israel fights those bent on its destruction within the rule of law and within reasonable constraints of human rights and civil behavior, a remarkable model in an era of terrorism."

They can't and they don't want it. By the way,it's obvious most of the participants here are religious loonies; citing "biblical" authority to justify blatant violations of international law is strictly from-nut-country. I think most of our "zionists" are fundies from Texas. Currently under international law - not the "tanahk" with it's wild stories of seas parting and snakes turning rods etc etc. - the GOI is currently illegally occupying the West Bank, the Golan Heights and by their never-ending siege the Gaza. These are facts that very diplomat on earth recognizes but try explaining that to religious nuts.

Maybe I should write up a Divinely Inspired Scripture where "G-d" gives me and "my seed" - the kids, etc. - all of North America. I mean, think of the rent revenue.

This so called "Israel" is nothing but western colonial state established in the heart of Arab lands to keep them apart and to prevent their unity and steal their resources... The so called "Israelis" are bunch of people with different ethnic origins and cultures who where convinced to be some kind of 3000 years old refugees just because they lived in closed communities and refused to mix with others...

So back to your question about how can these zionist have peace while they occupy other land. They cant and they wont and they know that no matter how hard they try to fool this world with all the propaganda work...

Next Palestinian generation will put an end to this all and there will finally be peace...

God is gonna give the land back to who it really belongs.... and i'm waiting for this day....its gonna be soon =)

Nobody cares about that.
We have to focus on how we are going to make Palestine strong (arms and weapons wise) so the Palestinians will be prepared for any future attacks from the immigrant jews that create illegal settlements on stolen land and stopping from doing so.
We must safeguard the Holy Land from folks that do not respect human life, use banned toxic missiles against sensitive civilian population.
You have seen all of them dead kid photos scattered on the Gaza streets.
haven't you?
Some of the older members here might remember how peaceful and Holy-like this land was 60-70 years ago.

A report shows more than half of the wounded children have been disabled due to Israeli attacks during the 23-day war against Gaza.
A report reveals that half of the Palestinian children wounded during the 23-day Israeli attacks on Gaza have been permanently disabled.

The report conducted by the Algerian Authority for Developing Health and Research says that 50 percent of the children wounded are now classified as disabled.

According to the UN figures, 460 Palestinian children were killed and 1,855 others were wounded during the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The study, which is based on the findings of an Algerian media team in Gaza, also found that almost 800,000 Palestinian children suffer from mental health disorders caused by the Israeli offensive on Gaza.

The report by the Algerian organization comes as the UN Children's Fund has announced that children are the main victims of the Israeli offensive into Gaza.

"Each day more children are being hurt, their small bodies wounded, their young lives shattered. This is tragic. This is unacceptable," said UNICEF executive director Ann Veneman in a statement.

UN special expert Richard Falk also said that '46 percent of all Gaza children' suffered from acute anemia and many others are dealing with hearing disorders, deafness as well as mental disorders.

Apart from the consequences of the 23-day war, the Israeli siege of Gaza has also put the lives of many children at stake. Children in the Gaza Strip are denied of basic rights, including access to food, medicine and health care.

I'll be honest to you though. I don't think the Jews will stay for long on that land.
They were never part of it.
Before they hit the street we need to get back all of our money they took from us first, with the Lehman Bros and Madhoff scam.
Our prez wants that too, that's why he cut in half that aid the jews have been receiving from us and gave it to the Palestinians.
We need to be close to the Arabs now, since these guys are the dudes that are going to get us out of this mess the jews created right here in the US.
If we won't do that in a few years we'll all be speaking Chinesian since most of our industry is up for sale.
