the cycle is already stopping with these posts. I love them.
the more the merrier.
and the hate posts other ppl post only accelerate violence.
so what u r doing is much more improving the world.
but if you want a more concrete answer to ur question- then peace agreements are a good start, after that cooperations between governments and after that combinations and merging.
edit: i donnow i guess when things come from the bottom it's the best that way it's not imposed on citizens but agreements are also good b/c sometimes ppl on top can see the wider picture - so i guess both are good, and I agree with u that it's the best way if it comes from the bottom. |

arrg, I wish I knew, I will say one thing though. Eduction, teach the next generation to disparage violence and you have a much better chance at a long lasting peace. |

Well - thank you for posting this - it would be nice if these two men and their organization could bring peace to the conflict. Let us pray that it can help with the process.
Good Luck!!! |

If Hamas stops firing rockets at Israeli schools and markets, Israel wouldn't need to retaliate. |

It can only be stopped when we learn to love one another as our self. and do unto others as we would have them unto us.. Love makes the world go around. Hate stops it cold.. I choose to love my fellow man. even when We disagree on thing. He may love red, while I love white. But I will not hate him because he chose red. Love will, and can bring us together. But, we must be willing vessels. |

That's a great website. Thank you for sharing. If only the Palestinian militants are willing to recognize Israel, peace would be apparent. Shalom/Salaam/Peace. |

It will be stopped the day the Arab world will understand Israel is here to stay, now I'm saying this because I BELIEVE IT TO BE TRUE, the Arab world must accept Israel, Israel does not want to fight, but will... anytime it is threatened, and it must win too.
If a situation will arise that a war might be lost everyone will pay a very high price, and at end Israel will stay.
You see people Israelis have returned to their home never to go away.. |

Honestly as a soldier myself,
1. I HATE draft dodgers, I think they are one of the lowest, most cowardly forms of a man there is, and
2. We have to strive to change the army from within. An outward group, realistically, will not help that much. Although it is difficult to incur change within the army, it's not impossible. Draft dodgers say they're 'objecting' but in reality they don't want to eat army rations and do hard work with low compensation for the years Israel asks of them. There are Haredi men who don't enlist but choose an alternative form of service.
How much BETTER if they JOINED the army and attempted to change it from within - if ALL soldiers objected to a particular mission, would they go through with it? No. It is also much harder to distribute punishment to a large number of soldiers. I can't speak in specifics, but something similar happened with my own brigade. |

What a great website!!! Thank you for sharing!
I think both sides need to realize this is a never-ending cycle of death and destruction which needs to be stopped immediately, then they need to reach a compromise based on a two-state solution and a divided Jerusalem.
But first, Israel needs to get out of Gaza.
-this is just my personal opinion... I fervently wish we can all live in peace, and I believe we all want the same thing for our children: To grow up happy and healthy and to have a bright future.
I wish we could all make that happen for our children. |

It is great that there are groups like this. I recently heard something on BBC Radio 4 about a school, in Jerusalem I think, where there were Jewish, Muslim (and a few Christian) children, and everyone spoke both Hebrew and Arabic and the teachers were from both Jewish and Muslim backgrounds. The children interviewed were brilliant - honest about their suspicions of the others initially, but having developed friendships across the divide. More of that, throughout Israel (and in the West Bank, though much less likely to happen) would be great.
There is also, in the UK, the British Shalom-Salaam Trust (http://www.bsst.org.uk/ ) which supports cross-commnity initiatives. |

Both sides must learn to treat the other like fellow human beings. The first answer is like the chicken and the egg question. It don't matter which came first, both exist now. Stop acting like kids on a playground. |

honest answer is there can never be peace with an israel in the middle east. Israel is like the black sheep of the middle east no one is going ot accept it.
Not even Egypt. when egypt meets with "israel" it puts on a foraced smiled and after it shakes hands with israel it goes to the nearest sink and washes it hands for fear of contamination.
Seriously, Peace will come when there is a Palestinian majority again. |

The quickest and easiest would be to thump Gaza for good. Not going to happen though.
Don't tell me about all those innocent people teaching their children hate and how to kill.
If you aren't part of a solution you are the enemy. |

My first thought is to air-drop a year's supply of SSRIs into both Israel and Palestine. Everybody needs to take 10-12 months to chill the h*ll out.....
Although the site is interesting is does not amount to any real solution. IF every combatant on each side, ALL simultaneously laid down their weapons, apart from being a miracle from G-d, then THEORETICALLY this idea could work, but this is neither likely, nor practical, nor responsibly advisable. You are either sarvanim or not, you can not 'select' what orders to obey in the military.
The real solution will only come when the citizens of each side, finally get fed up and retake control of their governments. Palestinians should not accept leadership that sequester/squander financial aid for who knows what, instead of providing police, medical, and other basic needs. IF there are more effective ways for Israel to secure borders while relaxing the number of checkpoints, then all means it should be done.
I think expansion of the West Bank should be halted but not a single inch should be given until Palestine stops acting like scattered "street gangs" and start acting like they are cohesive entity wanting real nationhood. That means an end to kassams and cease-fire. That type of progress is the only way to get to the negotiation table.
ONCE there, people are going to have move on from all this sh*t about their 'grandmother's house' and come back to planet Earth. I have so much mixed ancestry I could live any friggin' where, so puhleez spare the world from the personal sob story (do the American thing and write a bestseller instead).
The reality is that half of Israel's Jewish population have relocated from Arab countries. This cannot be reversed and must be taken into account when talking about the Palestinian REFUGEE problem. Resolution requires COOPERATION from surrounding Arab countries, which is highly improbable without real money (i.e. payoffs) or real leverage (i.e. oil independence). The bottom line is that the Arab countries could not defeat Israel militarily and are now using their last political weapon, the Palestinians, to hinder the integration of a Jewish state in the region.
So herein lies the real cycle...until the state of Israel is accepted by Arab nations, the Israeli-Pal conflict is unresolvable; the Arab nations claim they will never accept Israel "because" of the Israeli-Pal conflict.
Good luck with this; it's cold and rainy in Jerusalem and I feel like a mint tea.... |

I don’t know much about the Palestinian side
Not enough to judge them. And point what they can change.
But I know the Israeli side really god. And there for I can only criticize it. And I know what need to be changed so my side will be ready for real peace.
Unfothently the things that have to be changed are engraved in the Israeli culture it would be hard to change.
Maybe even imposable.
This thing you gave us looks nice
But it wouldn’t help
The most of Israel are still too hostile for such initiatives
The 2 main things we Israeli got to change so we might be ready for peace are:
1. Cancel the public draft.
Because every one has to go to the army the army has a strong control over the thoughts of the population and his hand to deep in the government.
It is not an intentionally and conscious act. The military is just too strong and dominant force in Israel. And every military is a danger for peace.
2. Cancel Jewish state
These racial separations are a problem for peace.
Israelis see them self’s superior to Arabs. And as long as they see things like that’s nothing will ever change.
but I doubt, this things will ever change
there will not be peace in the near future!!!!!! |
