There are two methods:
I- Peeled Method
1. Select the ripest orange from the bunch. Even though you do not eat the skin, you should still wash it thoroughly. This is because the knife used to cut it can transfer bacteria into the part you eat.
2. Dig a metal teaspoon or a knife into the peel and tear a bit of the peel off. Peel off with your fingers, or he spoon will make removing the outer peel very clean and easily done. Continue peeling along the underside of the orange peel until all the peel has all been removed. After all the skin is cleared off, you can throw the outer peel away.
3. Pull one of the wedges apart from the rest of orange, and place it into your mouth. While chewing, it may be best to remove the seeds found in the orange.
4. Be careful of juicy squirts, but an orange is something to be appreciated.
II Cut Method:
1. Place the orange on a plate. Take a knife and cut it in half, starting with the ends or the stem part down.
2. Cut again in half or quarters.
3. Continue until the orange is all cut in slices.
4. Hold with your hands, near the skin, and just put your mouth onto the orange itself, and bite it off the skin. Finally enjoy the lovely juicy taste!
Tips:
- Beware of squirting orange juice.
- Be careful not to choke on the seeds found in the orange.
Things you'll need:
- orange
- paper towels
- metal spoon
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Wait a minute, what kind of oranges where you referring to? Is it like when I say a "peach"?
Okay, in that case, slowly get closer to the "orange", look closely, let it stimulate your whole senses... approach with caution... smell the orange, move your lips over it... gently smell it again, okay, now place your lips on it gently sucking it... the rest will flow instinctively. |

I take a knife and snick it so I can peel the rest with my hands then I start tearing apart the segments and eat them one at a time. Then wash my hands and go on with life. |

It all depends on the variety of orange .......jeeeeez I can't believe I'm answering this question.....
Okay , if it is a navel orange ....you know the ones , the type that have belly buttons , then I peel it with a knife & then break into its' segments by hand ....unlike Ghanouge , there's no mess !
If It's a different variety , say a Valencia , which has a tougher skin I cut it into guarters with a knife & then try to limit the mess...better to juice them !
As for using cutlery to eat it , you must be joking ....don't think even the conservative British would do that !
What's all this about lobes ? I thought they are the things hanging off your ears ! |
